@@momo1461 I’m not sure what happens when there’s a mistake but I found enough videos on here to get the gist of how the machines work - every word and common phrase is abbreviated into a code (similar to a macro or text substitution in the tech world) and is set up so that one hand types the beginning and the other hand types the end of the code, at the same time - the keyboard is kind of like a piano in that you can press multiple keys at once to make different inputs. The user of the machine can customize their dictionary to add their own abbreviations. It clearly takes a long time to learn the system, but it’s designed to enable extremely fast typing once you are expert at it.

I am going into realtime reporting and we type by sound phonetically and the software called case catalyst translates it into words. It's a whole different language with our own software that translates it all. Also the briefs and phrases help shorten what we type and the software does a majority of the work... we just press certain buttons. Its literally another language in itself.

my whole life has been a lie. I thought all this time that they were called court transcriptors, and that they would've used typewriters back in the day and using something like a laptop. I didn't know they were called stenographers and that there is this weird device that types faster.

So a stenokeyboard is like a machine that automatically converts the word for you making it easier for you to type, like you put half a word and it automatically makes the full word making people able to type fast?

Thanks, I did understand everything and that with my not pefect English (I'm german). I saw that machine in some videos in courtrooms. But one thing was bad in your video, all that grey, the machine and the background give the video a feeling of a video from the 80/90s. like its pretty old froma time where colors wasn't much used.

Thank you for your expert opinion Mr Spielberg/Darck. Perhaps consider the inherent problems facing the filming of lit screens and shiny plastic, all the while trying to keep the subject of the training or info video central. To call something 'bad' is not constructive in any language so why not stop trolling the internet, or perhaps next time make a relevant comment that people watching this video might gain from.
