Hi Kirk, that foam system is a good system, I did a lot of western one coat system in Northern California and we did what we call pinning corners to the foam with nails. The nails did not go all the way to the wood substrate and the system worked great. Great defense against heat and sound , you can crank your music and not bother your neighbors! Glad your wrist has healed and you’re ok, or we would not be able to watch your videos. One other thing is the black frame windows , we need to come up with a better system of covering the black anodized material. I think the manufacturer should leave a plastic cover over the metal and the cover should be able to stay applied through window installation and through stucco application. Then can be removed at completion of our process. Hope a window manufacturer reads this and follows through. Always dig your content, thank you.

Howdy flyer dude, we used Echo Tape to cover these frames. Yes it cost more but well worth it. Funny, I did a couple video’s showing a home with echo tape and a few other brands after close to 40 days the Echo left no sticky residue but the others brands left residues and shredded. My material yard Westside didn’t sell echo, but due to the amount of folks asking for it and saying they watched our videos about its durability they started selling it. Hmmmm. They should much us down some boxes for free. 😉👍🏻

I would recommend this system for brick or block walls as, how would you attach? Can’t be done, instead apply an inch of regular stucco. CMU block walls are already insulated. If you just want a different or modern look pressure wash apply a bonding agent then apply a half inch of stucco.

@StuccoPlastering same system. Just drilling into concrete instead of wood. I know they do it. I got a quote many years ago. CMU is not insulated, it's only insulation is the block and air gaps. If new house the inside will have a layer of 3/4 foam. Not much.

Howdy Greenman, in my knowledge with these systems the outside can be compromised by similar instances as you say, however the moister barrier or waterproofing when done by skilled applicators is more than enough protection against even the harshest rainstorms, this is before one even realizes that most stuccos that are once inch thick in itself provides some serious protections against water intrusions. Thanks for the positive comment.

@StuccoPlastering

Good morning Andy, there are several ways to attach corners, you can attach with a gun or nails, then use the cement to hold them there permanently. Or one can use tie wire as we do for steel framing, and once more use the cement to secure them. Option 3 which I have done only when necessary use rods to simply build them with no corners. I have several videos where we did just this. On this home there were only a couple corners that did not have the 4 by 4 wood beans. I mentioned it as this added a challenge to our task. Our cement work will be avaible next Friday. Cheers.😉
