I have a question that no one seems to know the answer too (and I dont have one im trying to force, honest question)... Palestine originally included what was split 70 years ago into Israel & Jordan at the same time. Why is Israel disputed and not Jordan? (Honest question if anyone knows?)

this comes from a fundamental lack of knowledge of history. palestine and jordan were both states of a much larger nation known as greater syria. during the ottoman empire the states were divided into their own nations. britain then took control of palestine during the dismantling of the ottoman empire and gave it to the jewish people through the UN. the other states were left to self govern. for the noam guy below you, refugee camps are not occupation, refugee camps are temporary relief due to the mass exile and ethnic cleansing of palestinians from 1948 to today. the refugee camps are protected by the government in the sense that israel cannot walk directly onto surrounding countries' lands without repercussions

Wow. Just wow. So while I appreciate the professor attempting to engage the students, some of the information being shared here is so one-sided and there aren't any other adults in the room to push back on that narrative. Therefor, the students are only learning one perspective. There are multiple sides to this. Many things not being brought up which add context. Without that context, this is Israel-bashing at a University. We can do better than this.

@@khaos1999 interesting frame to your question. For me to respond, we'd have to both agree that a 'genocide' is actually taking place. This is why context needs to be added to this discussion. Without it, someone asking the question you did leaves no room for debate as it suggests there's only one 'right' side.

@TheConfusedJew I'm not sure of the significance of agreeing on if itnis taking place or not really matters objectively. Because it simply is, whether one wants to agree of not. Subjectively of course I'm like, THIS. IS. GENOCIDE. But also statistically, the facts show it

imagine if world leaders would have the intellectual capacity and maturity to sit down and talk and listen like these kid do. This teacher should be a moderator at the Un. I think zionists need to understand 3 things: 1- Palestine did exist and was not just an empty land with no culture no infrastructure (look it up there thousands of media docs) 2- that Palestinans have been paying the price for european anti sémitisme and 3- The zionist colonial project began some 40-50 years before WW2 it was not a result of it (some evidence even talk that zionist leader worked with the nazis as it would help succeed their project) and the founder was an atheist jew so clearly did not believe in God or that this was the promise land for jews.

IS this how you make an ongoing genocide palatable? "The problem is not the 10,000 of thousands of children being starved to death by Israel's fascist-colonialist regime. The problem is that those children haven't imagined themselves for one moment in the shoes of an IDF killer. You know... really see it and feel it." It's quite grotesque this.
