It's pretty okay if you just need a quick amp sound an a d.i. track, but when it comes to tone, effects (pedals and 500) amps and cabinets, routing options, rooms, microphones etc... nothing beats Amplitube 5. Especially the Fender collection for clean and crunchy sounds. If you're a guitarist and your music is mainly guitar driven, then Ampire will disappoint I think.

The thing I don’t like about making everything so pretty, it taxes your system to render. That’s why PT is so generic looking, as with the majority of S1 without those silly icons. Open Activity Monitor and see that it’s taxing your CPI 25%+ drawing all of the graphics, without the “pretty” graphics being opened. Open Ampire and watch the “WindowServer.” Then open up a 3rd party like GTR6 or Amplitube 5 and watch your system get nailed at over 100%. You’ll also notice Studio one blasting off. Good plug-in though! Seems stock plugins for Studio one are less resource heavy. Still A LOT better than Logic Pro 10.7.7. They make it so “pretty” that it’s so heavy. It’s a beautiful looking DAW but I wanna record music without my system crashing.

Thank you very much! Best amp sim by far because of its low latency compared to others I like this idea of putting the plugin onto the input channel. Do you know if you can at the same time take a clean feed off that sim-loaded input channel and record it onto a track DI to have the clean signal to re-amp?

About to dive into the world of home recording (a complete newbie). As a fledgling guitarist and my obsessive nature, I've spent hours watching and reading comparisons of amp sims (Helix, Blue Cat, and many others). So confusing!!! Since I've committed to using PreSonus products (A/D interface and Studio One) it finally dawned on me to see if PreSonsus has guitar tone software. Tada. Welcome Ampire! Looks simple to use, and hopefully will get me some nice heavy tone as well as nice clean tone??? A relative question, but WILL I BE DISAPPOINTED? Please be honest! Many thanks!!!

Tim. I have Studio Pro and am enjoying use of the package. But I get really fed up with the amount of white noise I get when I use the plugin for guitar. My question is far from the content, what if you don't have any worth monitor. In some cases mobile work and only $6 earphones you had in the moment, don't worry about the source but... Could we able mix/choosing effects to the sound properly?
@TimTalksAudio

You can certainly make what ever you have work. The most important thing is knowing what things sound like on what you have available. If you only have cheap ear buds, then use reference tracks to learn what those references sound like on the buds, then you can get your project close. I was just working on a mix last week with my mobile setup, and used my in ears to mix then when I could, I checked it on my main setup.

Do they make a version for musicians who aren`t computer programmers? I mean, you have to lay a totally clean guitar track down and then create the sound? Pardon me but isn`t that totally backwards? This partially explains why modern music is so amateurish. Suits you, though. On a different note, anybody want to buy a nearly un-used studio one?
@TimTalksAudio
4 жыл бұрын
You could just use the daw to record the guitars amps you own and get the tone the “old fashioned” way by plugging in your guitar, playing with the controls to suit the song, placing a microphone in front of the speakers of the cabs and hitting record. Using plugins to simulate that same chain makes it a little easier for those who may have a limited budget, can’t make that kind of noise where they live, etc. etc. I was just in a studio a few weeks ago and we used an amp sim for the scratch tracks, and then recorded a few different amps when it came to the keeper guitar tracks.
@BladesMusic
4 жыл бұрын
Hey John - You can definitely record the DRY part and have the plugin play back at the time of mix as shown in this video. If you know how to use Studio One, though, you can also do it a few other ways. My way of working is to track the dry sound so I can manipulate after the fact, but use the Input Monitor while recording (the button just next to the Record Enable on the track) so that you can hear the effect while playing into the track. Best of both worlds. You hear what you want and still have the flexibility to change it after the fact. If you don't like that - like Tim said, you can just use Studio One like a tape deck and record off your traditional Analog Amps with real mics and such and lose the flexibility and bug your neighbors. This is how all DAWs work and also how many traditional studios work these days as well. But the best part is how much flexibility to allows you to have.
@blakmath2554

You can record your amp and a dry signal with a DI box simultaneously.
@ryans9029
4 жыл бұрын
You can hear playback with all the effects and distortion in real time. It mar record a dry signal that you can tweak later, but you set the effects before rrcording the track and hear it real time. That what makes it so useful. Make a basic tone that you can play with and interact with the virtual "amp", and duplicate and or re-amp it later as well. My method is to plug in the guitar, and pretend it's an amp. I warm up while i set up the effects and the amp/cab, get everything sounding the way i want. THEN i hit record and lay the track. Laying a completely dry signal is nearly useless. You need to interact with the amp in real time. That interaction is very important, and affects the way we actually play the guitar in real time.
