If you’re wondering where’s part 2 of the guest bathroom makeover, I’m still waiting for materials to be restocked at my local hardware store :-( Silver lining, I got some time to do something I’ve been dying to do for weeks - reorganize this DIY room with my favourite Ikea products! It is interesting to see how this space has pivoted from a half DIY, half video editing room to a full DIY studio. I’m happy to finally utilise the wall shelves in a much more functional, but still beautiful way. It’s looking like my very own little boutique hardware store, hehe. If you’re a DIY enthusiast or beginner and don’t know where to start, I introduced all my powertools and other must-haves at 10:05 ;) For links, please check out the description box!

The way you do your videos is amazing. Between the parts of quiet and soft music, to you softly talking and hearing the sounds of you organizing stuff. It leaves me feeling calm and inspired. A suggestion on the screw organizer? Maybe you could just paint the outside of it the mint green color. I hate painting the inside of those things cause it makes the drawers stick, but i think just painting the outside would be really pretty.

I have gone from mildly appreciating your videos to eagerly looking forward to them every week! And can we take a moment to acknowledge how the quality of your videos has gone from 10 to like 1 million! :D The story-telling, the flow, the DIYs themselves, and my favorite- the aesthetics, are just AMAZING! You are such an inspiration and I wish you never stop DIYing and creating content, because you certainly have a gift! Lots of love from India!

you could spraypaint the outside (so just the black part) of the screw organizer, that way you still keep the function of having clear boxes to easily see the screws, but the mint green will lighten everything up

@5:15 omg same I avoided buying these due to the color! But you can easily just cover the boring color with contact paper or peel and stick wall paper. Easier than spray paint

For the black screw box you can try to find some d-c-fix in mint to at least stick in on the outside of it. The brush storage looks cute but your brushes will get dusty and you don't want to paint dust onto your furnitures.

Keeping a space to hold what we need to create feels like a sacred agreement with ourselves. When my children were at home I used the dining room and we ate in front of the fireplace instead. Now I have a room that is more private and I am so grateful. I am so excited to see what your space inspires you to create. 💚🪻

for the spray paint cans you could also organise them vertically above one another (like with a wine rack or something?) so that you can see the heads/ collars directly like in the store :) and you could change it up from time to time like a mosaic!

loved this video so much!!! pro tip re making a lot of masking tape labels at once -- you can apply a long strip of tape onto a cutting surface and write out a bunch of labels at once, then use a sharp knife to cut the tape between the labels and peel them off :) i use masking tape for food labels in my pantry/fridge and learned this method from chef Sohla El-Waylly - it's game changing!!

also LOVEEEEE the thrifted jugs idea!!! definitely going to do that myself, maybe even for kitchen utensils too :) do you put anything in the bottom as like a soft landing pad? i figure paint brushes are low risk but i wouldnt want my heavier utensils to crack the ceramics :'( maybe a bit of foam or something??
@cloudyhills
Жыл бұрын
That's such a good tip on the tape! For the pots, you could stick a large piece of felt/foam (you know the kind people stick on the bottom of furniture feet to prevent scratching the floor?)

Always so inspiring, and I wish my apartment was in an area that allowed for this type of work. I have neighbors below, behind, and next to me (though for the loud neighbors next to me, I ought to use loud power tools to give them a taste of the loud chaos they always make, lol. They slam doors and allow their kids to shake the whole building and scream running up and down the stairs 😓). I'm seeing some decent houses to rent instead of being in an apartment building and the houses are cheaper, so I might move in the next year. I can use the money saved on power tools to build my own furniture 😂
