Thanks for sharing, Mike. I don't get a sense that anything is superfluous in your studio; it all seems to have a clear purpose, ... mostly :)

Very impressive! Maybe in your next life you’ll come with more than 2 arms to play several machines simultaneously. Great camera work and good blending in between the clips. It must get hot in there in summer with the heat from the equipment but then again warm in winter.

that’s really awesome michael! loving the introduction / explanation, especially. now hooked for part 2. it would be lovely, if you could quickly play one favourite signature sound on at least some of these - just for a glimpse of what they can do for you... i can’t wait to see all this in the flesh one day... 😊

When you see nice things you have 2 possibilities: Either you're jealous, you would like this person doesn't have such things, or you're envious, you would love to have such nice things yourself. I'm in the 2nd category. I would love to have a CMI, a Synclav', old Moogs, etc... and I'm happy you have them. I know they're in good hands, the hand of a real enthousiast and connoisseur. Now waiting for part 2!

As the owner of some uncommon E-MU gear, I totally understand where you're coming from about your collection and I appreciate you sharing it with us in video form! The Fairlight CMI is such a fascinating machine to me; really enjoyed your series on the 1x Build as well.

This video, IMHO, has been a long time coming. Thanks for doing it. As a gear guy also I'm more of a "when one thing comes, another goes", or vice versa. But I have a lot of respect for guys that keep all their heirlooms permanently. I have a minimalist OCD and anti-clutter psychiatric disorder (non-clinical) so I'm constantly flushing out/liquidating things I don't use regularly (mint condition Oberheim Two Voice and Jupiters are no longer in my possession, sadly).. It's not a financial thing but rather an anti- clutter thing. BUT I love living vicariously through you which is why I sub to your IG and KZitem. Can't wait for episode #2.

I think you actually asked for this a few years back! The only thing stopping me really was the concerns I mention at the start of the video! Hopefully its inetersting enough :D Best you not be in my studio when i'm mid recording/filming as its normally quite messy. Thanks as always for the continued support!

You have a pretty efficient setup there I think, and what a lovely collection! Was that a D50 at the bottom of your "digital" rack? I got the Poltergeist reference but the "mostly" one went over my head, sorry... who was that?
@100ThingsIDo
2 жыл бұрын
I thought the Poltergeist reference would be the obscure one haha. The other was 'Newt' from the film Aliens... there is a line 'They mostly come at night.. mostly" that she is known for. Indeed a D-50 next time! :D

E. Sagar made in Skipton in the UK (Close to where I was born). It was modified from a 24hr movement to a 7 day at some point in its life (i'm guessing around 150 years ago or so i'm guessing). I got it in a pretty poor state and have restored it.
