I've been listening to Chuck almost daily for nearly 15 years (while I work, but especially at night - he usually helps me overcome my insomnia! Haha) and though I've been reading my Bible daily for 23 years, it wasn't til the last 18 months or so when I started literally WRITING the verses and chapters and books out and chasing cross-references, etc., that his constant statement that the Bible is ONE STORY really started to hit home deeply. From Genesis to Revelation, it's literally the same story on repeat. Foreshadowed, prophesied, fulfilled, memorialized, etc. He also constantly says that every single word, name, number, etc is there for a reason. The more I belly-crawl through the Bible, the more astonished and delighted I am to discover that truth on a much deeper level. Really looking forward to meeting this father-in-the-faith soon!

@BoudiccaBlanc In reference to the 6 days thing in Genesis..... The Hebrew word used for day is specifically that, a 24 hour period. Without exception, when that Hebrew word (day) is used along with a number in the Old Testament it always refers to a finite specific period of time. The Hebrew word day has not changed from what we understand it today, a 24 hour period. Example: If I said I was going on vacation for 5 days, no one would think I would be gone for billions and billions of years.

@gorilla199uncensored ... The Heptatic structure of the Bible speaks for it's self. The Bible was written thousands of years ago; yet, like DNA the heptatic structure is intact. The chance of either happening at random is so remote that there has to be some sort of blueprint for both. Is god real? Myself (and others) say "Yes!" You say "No!" I guess we will find out when we die. I'm not worried about it. Are you? Live and let live is my motto.

The only thing that ever bothers me about Chuck's 66/40 thing is that he says the authors didn't even know each other... That's obviously not true. Most of the New Testament authors knew each other. And from what I gather some of the Old Testament authors (not many) knew each other as well. Other than that I love Chuck's passion for the word and his insights. He's been such a great help in my understanding the scripture. God bless him.

I know what you're saying, but I think the point he was getting at was it's not like these authors were conspiring for a thousand+ years. Most were not in the same vicinity, even if they were alive at the same point. But THE Author, the Holy Spirit, was working through all. :)

1-2 @gorilla199uncensored "gods"? There is only one creator god; even in polytheistic religions like Hinduism . The phrases "pillars" "ceiling" etc. are poetic phrases. I'm not sure what scripture you are referring to when you say the earth doesn't move. Could the phrase mean that the planets are set in the heavens? Again poetic license. The earth is 6000 years old? ....

He created light and darkness as well before creating the sun. He only created the sun in the 4th day. I wonder how he could have light, day and night without the sun... And by the way, when he created the sun he said that it would serve as signs for seasons, years, and DAYS. I wonder what was being used to count the days before he had the sun to measure them... I also wonder about the gravitational implications on the earth by creating a sun only after the earth already existed...

2-3 @gorilla199uncensored .. "Evolution" is a theory; as is "Creationism" and "Intelligent Design. None of the three can be "proven" as a math problem is "proven" since we can not go back in time (at this stage of our knowledge) to observe the events. An ark? Who's to say if a big boat (ark) was built in ancient times? Who's to say that an ancient culture wasn't flooded.? Is it any more plausible or implausible than space aliens?
