FOR A 15 MINUTE MEETING. She kept wanting to try my desk chair. (We have the SAME type of chair.) One day I swapped the chairs, she never noticed. Two days later she asks again to try my chair. She said it was so much better. "Well, we can swap if you want." She swapped back to her original chair. Complete idiot.

We have all gotten quite annoyed at times by the millennials who use the word "LIKE", 18 times in each sentence. A few of them have actually caught on to it and are curtailing their use of the word, but I have a new one that irritates the crap out of me. It is in a very condescending and smug tone and while slowing down their speech (as if I'm dumb) start a sentence with the word "SO" and then responding very indirectly. example: Ahh, you work in marketing, your company creates and develops new emoji's that people can use in communication, interesting. What are the marketing efforts? Do you advertise on Bill Boards along highways? response: Sooo........we...cross-platform across the 10 most trafficed social media entities........ sooooo, uhhhh.....the.....relevant ones...........Do you understand that......what I am saying?........and then we use high density algorithms....to converge the different platforms for collaboration...........to grow.....and.....constantly .......refresh our data base!........Soooooooo,......uhhhh!....noooooo, no bill boards, ....a liiittttlllleee too throwback! But you're very sweet for an old man......Soooo, ......I have to go and meet my friends at Starbucks now........sooooo.......yah.

Generalizing much? Sounds like a steriotype to me not that I don't know what you mean I've heard people talk like that too. But I don't. And I am a millennial. You would be a millennial too if you were raised in a world build by non-millennials and under the care of non-millennials I think your parents did a good job with you. But where did you go wrong with us? Surely your not going to blame an infantile mind for taking in what it's given and acting on what it knows.. we didn't get enough good examples of what to do right. And we don't get the insensitive we needed to do what you wanted us to. And not that I want to be punished for doing the wrong thing but it is you non-millennials who allowed us to act how we do.
@randhuff630
6 жыл бұрын
XzG4B3xZ 1 Admittedly my comment does paint a broad generalization. And as a person who has commented a few times on videos about Millennials, this was also a very cunning comment, not particularly empathetic. Here is what I encourage you to take away; the fact that you are watching youtube videos that criticize Millennials speaks to your interest, probably in self assessment and improving yourself. It is a great step in the right direction. I also agree with you, that our generation, politically, has created a mess, all be it that the mention of 'the non-millennial generation' is a great generalization as well. But what a prior generation has done needs to be exposed, pointed out as fact and then you need to move on. You can't turn the clock back and change history, whatever happened is still on your shoulders and you have to forge and create your future with the hand that you've been dealt. Behind my comments about Millennials is a 50+ year old man who astutely is aware that the future is in the hands of the young. You and I both know that in 15-20 years people like me will be irrelevant. I have children who are Millennials and work with them, teaching them my skills and slowly handing over my craft to them. Young people give me joy. My comments are out of concern and meant well. Try to be virtuous and critically think for yourself. Another genralization of mine and others is Millennial's critical outlook (and disdain really) for corporations. You have your reasons is my guess, but do it when unemployment is incredibly low. What Millennials need desperately now is employment that will give them a future. This is not the time to to fight the entities that create employment. I hear Millennials say that corporations should not be allowed to make a profit! What am I to think of that when they make exceptions according to their narrow minded personal narratives, as if other people could not possibly have a different narrative. For example Exxon/Mobil is a greedy dirty evil company that should be disallowed from making a profit but the profits of Apple corporation (Hundred's times higher) are great, they should make more profit. It is my belief that Apple is just as greedy, possibly more than Exxon/Mobile. Apple, no doubt price gauges its customers, employs Chinese slave labor, and their products are really not that great. Apple products sell so well because they are in a fortunate position to have a customer base that is "cult" like in their adoration for the company and will staunchly support any bad product, at any price and accept any level of profusely bad and arrogant customer support. In the end Apple products do not contribute to the well being of people at the level that Exxon/Mobil's products do. That is just one example but think about these things with an open, not propagandized mind. Good luck in all your future endeavors.
