Lean sarmi ideal for the Christmas Eve table. Easy recipe and my tips for perfect sarmi.
Ingredients:
For about 50-55 pieces
vine leaves (about 30-40 pieces, depending on how big they are)
1 large onion
1 bunch of spring onions
1 bunch fennel (without the stems)
80 ml of oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 lemons
Water is poured cold along with the sarmi. It is put on medium heat and when it boils well I turn it down to very low, I run on 2-3 of 9 degrees. Boil for about 90 minutes.
