'Valo Tea' means Good Tea. 'Valo' = Good in bengali. So if you mean Good Samosa you should say 'Valo Samosa' (NOT 'Valo Tea' Samosa). Likewise: Valo Jol (Good Water), Valo Bari (Good House), Valo Manush (Good person). Hope you find this small linguistics session helpful, Chris 😄

Hello Chris, love your videos man. Btw here in Bengal we don't call a samosa samosa but "Singhara", and the funny thing is, to the hindi speakers in India "Singhara" means "Water chestnut" fruit. So it very confusing to them as well as to us Bengalis. In India the we don't always have same word for same thing and also same word for completely different things.

I'm from South India and I personally couldnt stand being in Bengal due to its food. I love the culture and the retro vibes kolkata has. I also love how they have the best clothes for cheap prices. I got a saree and my friends thought its a 10,000 RS saree but it was only 500 rs back then. The food though ...Everything has sugar added to it, even the biryani. I had tears eating their food because we arent used to adding sugar in spicy foods. Now knowing even samosa has sugar in it makes me cry. Even koreans add sugar to all Savory dishes. Unless you are born eating it and being used to it , its difficult for other states Indians to appreciate Kolkata's food. You as americans most of your dishes are sweet and not that spicy , so probably you didn't have a tough time.

You have -5000 million% idea about bengali foods.. there are two kinds of cooking gharana here.. rest u have to read.. read the history. And I am sorry maam, sugar adding in food is not always about making the food sweet.. a pinch of it, gives a beautiful colour to the food and enhances tge flavor of the spices due to caramalizatio.. You are far far far away from realizing the culinary tricks.. another thing . Poppy seeds I guess you know.. that's is another thing which enhances the test of a curry just like Kassari methi.. read
