@@cactushatmushrooms3677 It has been a great purchase already. Great results so far. I honestly had no idea how much stuff was flying about in the air that you can grow on a petri dish just by leaving it on the table for seconds really. I have had a lot of success since using one and would never go back as the success rate far outweighs the cost of the unit. I have made a nice lightweight tunnel that the mini flow hood goes into snugly, works well for my needs.

Stupid details, but such solid content man. Your videos on barrel steamers, consults, and just the business side of things are such solid, no-nonsense knowledge. Thank you for the time and effort you put into them. By the way.. I am about to do 50 plates and had to re-reference this video now that I got my temp gun LOL

Tried pouring my first plates a few days ago. Poured way too hot. Had tons of condensation and everything is super contaminated. Not sure if its from all the water or something else. Still working in a SAB which sucks. Flow hood build coming up soon. Ordered a temp gun. Stored poured plates in sleeve they came in with end taped back up. Inoculated 4 plates that were stored separately and thy were contaminated as well. Do you think excess condensation alone can cause all the contamination or would you be looking at other factors first? Thanks

Bacteria loves standing water. Assuming your plates were sterile starting out and you sterilized the media properly it can be a cause.

Different strains prefer different temps, however, a general rule is around 60-65F.

That’s a great result. I wish I can grow the same lions. I bought cheap loins mane culture online, it’s seems it colonizing well and fast, but once I put in in grow room there’s nothing. What could cause it?

Theres a bunch of reasons that could happen. Definitely get a commercial grade culture from a trusted vendor. I use mycelium emporium or maine cap n stem.

I don't have a temperature gun, but I have a sous vide stick for cooking. I can set it at the precise temperature for pouring then place the agar flask in that water bath. It will uniformly come down to pouring temperature while i busy myself with other chores. It will never drop below my set temp so I can pour at my leisure.
