@@KarlBunker did you see the mythbusters esque sign he hung on the hook, that was the stencil work of deiresta. Jimmy dieresta is also a maker great channel much like wesley's. Less talking more making, while wesley is more character oriented and chris of click spring is more narration based but full making almost a homogeneous mixture between the two mentioned above. If you like silly but good quality this old tony is a great channel too.

Sadly you missed an opportunity to give a better wear surface on the hook and make it match the brass laminations better too. When you had that piece of iron nice and cherry red you could have taken a brass bristle brush and brushed over it and actually embedded the brass into the piece giving it a beautiful patina and also a better wear surface for things rubbing up against it like cloth or leather that you might hang on it. Then it would have matched the inlays and also had a beautiful look all by itself. You also could have repeated that process for the eliminated pieces as well!

So weird , there is a great optical illusion going on with this project. .. I guess it's because there is that upward tick on the hook.. it looks from the shots (during mounting, and then hanging on the wall) that the piece is kinda cocked to one side and not sitting vertical. But cool none the less. :)
