I think the most interesting stammering thing I have ever come across is a talk I went to by man - and he would talk by bouncing from word to word, and it was amazing - almost like he got into a flow. What was even stranger was that when speaking French he didn't stammer, but did when talking English, his natural language. This to me implies that by occupying that part of the brain the "does stammering" with translating from English to French he became fluent.

I have had a stutter since I was 7, but I improved my speech significantly by 1. talking to myself in the mirror 2. Embarrassing myself so it doesn't really affect my as much and this reduces fear of public speech, 3. Pretending like I'm someone else, because the person you are acting like does not have a stutter.

I went to a speech therapist 6 months ago , and to be honest the practices she gave me to do in home didn`t make sense to me . because when i talk to myself i never stutter , but when i talk to person, the stutter occurs , then it means that it is purely psychological issue , could be an experience we had when we were children , or could be the lack of confidence i believe . Also what happens to me sometimes is that when i go through a depression to a level that i don`t give a fuck about anyone whoever he is . i magically speak fluently and smoothly , and i realized that through all my life every time i don`t give a fuck about others or anyone in life . So i think me and anyone else should reconsider him/her self and what is going on when i talk to someone , the kind of people of who i stutter the most . which idea that once it comes to my mind i stutter. this is my conclusion of my experience, if i wanna give the problem a percentage number i would give it 80% psychological issue (confidence and fear, or something that our brain used to do every time we go through the same circumstance that we stutter at ) 20% physical ( breathing , exhale / inhale etc...). the only technique that worked for me is to speak slowly when i feel that i am gonna stutter a alot and to inhale and exhale 10 times deeply and slowly before sleeping .

Hi, great video, I've tried hypnosis, it was a recommendation from a friend, anyway it "worked" just a few minutes, I think a easy way to explain is that it make me feel more calm, I didn't stutter at all. But again, it was only for some minutes. I also don't stutter when I sing (it doesn't mean that I sing well hehehe). I think that each stutter has a unique way and "reason" (I don't think that is the word) to stutter, so its difficult to talk about this "cure". You speak very well by the way, loving your videos 😊

In some VR (virtual reality) systems today they are experimenting with a piece of technology called Inmind...a piece of technology which your brain controls your character and moves you through the game. It's in the very early stages. But this goes into the issue of mind control. It can work for you like possibly curing cancer later. But it also has its downsides as well.

Is it more difficult to keep on stuttering on word that blocks you solid, OR to stutter in the middle of the word on a letter that took you by surprise?

Yes don't count on singing as a cure rather than an escape. I think of singing for stutterers your FREE VOICE. Your free voice has no issues, no problems, nothing. You can always start singing but when you do spend 1 or 2 hours doing it (a long time). Enjoy the moment where the sound vibrates freely through you. I don't know if very easy throat and laryngeal massages can help improve your speech but go ahead and try it out.

Hypnosis works on the basis that most people aren't born with stammer, and it's formed in the early years - so it is supposed to enable access to undo the early thought process that cause stammering. EFT is another option, far less intrusive. Worked brilliantly for a while with me.

It's also great to add yet again it is a mistake to yell or shout over any stutter in order to make it go away. Shouting will end up scratching your voice wearing down your vibrations and if you continue you will not be able to produce any. It would be interesting if raising or lowering the voice pitch would affect the stutter however.

Hypnosis: I've had hypnosis. Was conscious the whole time, just achieved this very RELAXED mental state. IMHO there's nothing to worry about with hypnosis if it's from a reputable professional like a psychologist.

Electro shock treatment is bad. It has been used to treat depression but it causes a certain amount of brain damage, such as losing certain memories, and even forgetting people.

I tell you an extraordinary experience I went through, i am ashamed to say that I still don't know how to swim until today =/, but when i was 13 Years old i went to dive at my local swimming pool centre, unfortunately I couldn't pull myself up under water and i was drowning, I was very terrified thought I would die, when I was rescued One of the staff from there was asking me questions( whilst still in great fear) I never thought i would speak so clearly and like lightning, the words i couldn't say I said it at that time. It felt like electric currents going around my whole body. Normally if a stutterer was in great shocked or fear they wouldn't be able to form the words or mostly likely have blockage speech, but for me it was the other way round. So do i need to be in constant shock in order to grasped this speed like lightning talk again? Lol sounds wierd but I think that our brians need to awaken in way of saying like a car starting with "jump start" and then engine runs, what if that's the only thing we are lacking? The brian needs perhaps a sort of jump start, a very active and sharp Brian? Well stuttering is very complex, I am not a professional but those experiences made me saw a glimpse of what it's actually feels like not been a stutterer even just for a few mins.
