These scarves you have been making are just pure luxury. Love them! I didn’t realize I could get Skylark off of Amazon, so that’s a whole new door to open for pattern shopping -whoop!!! Hope your eye gets better quick. I am on the long-haul treating my face for skin cancer and it is very uncomfortable. It has definitely kept me off camera for a few weeks. Have a great weekend Michelle! I hope I get to see you soon.

I'm almost (almost) jealous that I don't need one of those scarves for myself 🤣. Oh yes, Style Arc on Amazon is so easy peasy! I love getting the paper patterns vs a download and sending to PDF Plotting!! My eye is on the mend already, thanks :). I'm sorry to hear about your skin cancer - we'll have to chat offline 💕. We should plan a get together soon...right after the holidays I think!!

They have sales several times throughout the year. They just aren't always on Amazon so this one was a good one! Hopefully it was successful and they'll repeat it next time😊

The Jules is a great top. I’ve made it numerous times but you might want to check the depth of the v neckline as it came down very low. I raised the neckline and just ditched the button holes sewing the buttons on. A very quick flattering sew.

Hmmmm... Thanks for bringing the Jules tunic to my attention.... I've been looking for a substitution for simplicity S8172 this might be it. I've been looking at the simplicity but it's not avail in 🇨🇦 for years now. And one of these days simplicity might grab a brain and make their patterns avail in pdf format. But sadly not yet. By the time they make it here from an address of a relative in North Carolina (2months later... American intl regular mail is ridiculously slow and $$$) they're usually around $20 and that's on a $1.99 sale. Anyway....I wanted to make it for my hippy daughter color blocking the flounce in a solid orange color a very thing drapery almost translucent woven mystery remnant in my stash and the bodice in a black & Orange ditsy floral. Perfect tunic for the next outdoor summer music rock concert they attend annually (I get to babysit the grandkids.... Sooooo anything to encourage them to get outta the house for a weekend is a good thing for moi) The simplicity looks more kimono and the style arc looks more maternity. She's just come off a year of mat leave so anything maternity is a nooooo thank-you mom. Which one??? I think you have both.

Your plans for your daughter's top sounds so pretty! It's a shame the int'l shipping is so crazy! I do have both patterns. I have made the Simplicity back when I first started sewing. It is definitely more of a kimono style, no fastenings. But, yes, it's very similar! I think whether or not the Style Arc looks maternity will depend on how well it fits in the top. I did not look at it and immediately think "maternity". If that one is more readily available, you could also make it without the buttons and it could be even more similar to the Simplicity. 🤷♀️ I look forward to hearing what you choose!

Also feel that style arc is my esthetic. I've always felt that in the past plus size clothing has been so "old lady". Even tho I am old I don't feel it! Thanks for your videos. I really enjoy them! Btw. Think you're the only one who got the countdown calendar right! Lol

I agree - the few patterns that the Big 4 choose to extend to plus sizes are their more matronly patterns. Another reason I don't go that direction very often. I do not feel my age either haha!

I’ve been enjoying my KATM countdown calendar, it’s a nice little treat for me. Can’t wait to see your resin buttons, the selection out in local stores is pretty paltry and boring. Love all the glitz you have to add to your buttons. Haven’t tried ant style arc patterns but have heard the same complaints. Hope your “family” outfit works! 😊. Safe travels!
@MichelleSewsAgain

I totally agree about the button selection in stores! I think Style Arc patterns are worth figuring out the instructions most of the time - but that's because the Big Four just haven't been an option for me. Although, I've not heard great things about most of their instructions either 🤣. I am actually loving the idea of a full "family" outfit - I already have a pattern for a "Michelle" tank top and a "Carmen" blouse (my maternal grandmother) so now I just need to find something named "Genevieve" (my paternal grandmother).

i really enjoy making my own basics b/c i get to pick really nice quality fabrics and make them fit me just right. i figure it's worth putting in the time and money for something that will get worn so much. i have a question about your resin crafts--does the resin have a strong smell or fumes? i am curious about maybe trying it myself but i'm super sensitive to odors and if there's a strong chemical smell i don't think i could handle it. thanks!
@MichelleSewsAgain
Жыл бұрын
Hi Sara! You like things to fit more closely than I do, so I can understand why that would be worth your time and effort! For the resin crafts, I do not experience a strong smell at all. Now, to be transparent, since I had Covid two years ago, I've never fully recovered my sense of smell. BUT I think if the smell was overbearing, I would notice it 🤷♀️. I even put my face in the container yesterday when I was mixing the resin to be sure 🤣. I think you will be ok!!
