What a sweet charity! Coincidentally, I was thinking about how I had heard of Sew Powerful before, and I realized that the owner also created Pixie Faire, the doll pattern website I buy from! I sew almost exclusively for 18 inch dolls and only use patterns from them. Cinnamon originally began with her own line of 18 inch doll patterns, Liberty Jane Clothing, and then expanded over time into a platform for other doll pattern makers as well. There’s a HUGE selection of all sorts of styles from modern basics to incredibly intricate historical costumes down to the undergarments 😂

I don't use the zigzag stitch anymore since I discovered stretch thread. Guttermann calls is Maraflex and Amann-Mettler calls is Seraflex. I use Seraflex, there are some 50+ colours and it does not pop when you pull the seam. I use it both in the bobbin and the needle. Stitch length 3.0. It is worthwhile trying. You can find it on Amazon but I think it should be available, under either brands, in real shops as well. How nice to see Philly again. It was such fun to watch you fitting each other! In this video you said you had all the adjustments in you pattern for the top you made at the last minute including a FBA, I thought in a previous video you said you can’t do an FBA in a dolman sleeve top?? Could you do a video on that or maybe explain how to do it? Or is it just the same as any other top? I’m just getting started with Fit nice and I would like them to fit. Your tops always fit you so nicely!

I have shown an FBA in a dolman top, but I don't know where. I need to name my videos better. You just slice the sleeve off. Then you do the FBA. The you tape the sleeve back on. There will be a little extra space, but it is very little and doesn't matter.

So, how did you get Zoom-ability? I thought that was just for businesses to access. Hmmm. Inquiring minds interested. Reception appears better than I've seen of Facetime. Don't know how to do that either. All very mysterious. Enjoyed today's visit. Hope Jerry's shoulder is doing well. Was great seeing Philly. Thanks for the visit with her. As for zigzag for stretch, I've not seen such a big zigzag bite taken. It only needs to be barely a zigzag to effectively add the stretch, in my observation.

Joy, make your snippets as long as you can. I love watching them. And you are so right about pausing them. Sometimes I need to stop and do something. Like Phylly, I have an invalid husband to care for. But I always come back and finish the video later. Since I am very housebound as the caregiver for my husband, watching your videos is like visiting with a friend. I enjoy them so much. Whenever I am sharing one of your comments with a friend or family member, I refer to you as my best friend on the Internet!😂😂😂 Whenever you say you’re going to shorten your tops, and I say this with love, I am like, “Oh, please don’t!“ When they are shortened to the length you seem to prefer (and I’m so sorry to say this), but it seems to draw the eye to your crotch. I hope that doesn’t offend you. This is meant to be a constructive critique. I thought the very same thing that Lynn Berg did about the colors of the handles on your scrap containers. So easy to just grab one container and know what colors are going to be inside. I really like the Sage Pants on you. Very flattering!

Hi Joy , that is a great charity ! Love your pants , do you ever have a problem with the waistband rolling down on any of your pants ? I find it happens to me all the time, the only fix I can find is to wear a belt. Do you have any suggestions to remedy it please and thank you, Bridget
@Joy4650B
Жыл бұрын
Oh, yes. Especially, rtw knit pants roll down on one side only. Ugh. The pair I just made has a 2" elastic in the waist, and they do not roll down at all. Maybe wider elastic. Also, getting the waist to be at a flatter part of your waist -- if that makes sense. Some elastics are quite a bit denser/thicker in construction. That may help. If the elastic is really soft, it probably will roll easier.
@bridgetrsews

I know some people use the zz really narrow. I usually do 1.0. I don't see how it can even work. Peggy Sagers says she never uses a zig zag and she never changes her needle unless it breaks. I don't know how her garments come out so good. She says to widen your stitch length, and I do do that. 3.0 or 3.50. This JoAnn fabric is super stretchy and very soft -- kind of like real thin velvet.
