Nice review! I bought the 2024 Mazda CX-50 Turbo PP a few weeks ago. I wasn't sure about the infotanment screen and knob...took some getting used to. Now, I like it. It is out of the way. Being age 55, it's not really a deal breaker anyways (once things are set up, just use the Bluetooth for jamming music and just drive it). It will drive sedate and calm for getting groceries. Then it will don it's Ninja mask and slice through highway traffic like a sharp knife. It is a lot of bang for your buck (fun) if you don't want to spend Porsche Macan kinda money or bigger SUV.

Love this design. I know young adults in their early 20’s are gonna love this. Compact SUV’s are the new thing. Hope Mazda continues the CX 50 line so I can save up haha. Thank you for this review!

@6:18 he talks about 227hp and 320ft torque... its actually 227hp w/310ft torque when fed with regular 87 fuel. Feed it premium 93, you get 256hp with 320ft torque.

Don't think it has fog lamps. I've been in my 24 TPP for a few weeks now. So far, I'm loving this vehicle. It's a got a few quirks that I don't like, but the pluses outweigh the minuses. Coming from a Dodge Charger SXT. The Infotainment knob is no real big issue--I like it. I almost made this a deal breaker and glad I didn't. The screen location helps keep eyes on the road.

Just bought a CX-50 turbo premium plus a few weeks ago. I was driving 2017 honda civic before and was looking for something a little bigger for kids and outdoor activities. Some things I like: 1. Its just an all around fun drive. I've never owned a mazda before and this thing feels surprisingly fast and zips around quickly. 2. Some people are very opinionated about Bose. I actually love the stereo system. I commute a lot for work and I'm constantly listening to music. Has a lot of bass and a clear sound. 3. The interior in general feels closer to a luxury line. To me, it's almost like mazda made a good copy of mercedes with this. 4. The drive is surprisingly quiet. At least compared to my honda. Some things I dont like: 1. Backs seats don't offer as much room as I thought. I'm thinking carseats. They are still sufficient for car seats but front seats might not be able to go back as far. 2. Storage is noticeably lacking. The infotainment dials take up real estate that would otherwise be extra storage. 3. It feels very dark inside at night. Not sure why it feels dark because my honda had the same amount of interior lighting and never felt this way. Needs more ambient lighting. 4. This is a weird personal preference thing, but the lack of a second interior door handle (like on the drivers arm rest) bugged me a little. Super petty I know, but the one handle you do get doesn't allow you much leverage when opening and closing. In my honda, I'd also set my phone or wallet there sometimes when going through a drive through. Last note, I thought I would hate the non touch screen infotainment, but after getting used to it for a couple of days I think I actually like it better than touch screens. Keeps your screen looking clean without fingerprints, easier to operate without taking eyes off road, etc. Overall, I love this car so far. I looked at a ton of suvs and had initially planned to hold off for the new santa fe, but ultimately enjoyed test driving this car and loving it. This was also significantly cheaper than other suvs I was looking at. Ultimately, I sacrificed some space for a fun drive and better price.

I had a 21 CX30 TPP which I absolutely loved and had no intentions of trading it in. It had 48K on it in 2 years and 8 months of ownership. Had some nice appearance mods on it and a Magnaflow axle back exhaust. On 12/2/23 I traded it in for a 24 CX50 TPP and I love it. Already have some nice appearance mods and will be getting an axle back later this year. I also just got rid of the OEM Goodyear Eagle Touring tires with 3300 miles on them. I went with the Falken Wildpeak AT Trails in 245/50/20 (up from the 45 series sidewall) and they are amazing. Gives the car a more rugged look and will be great for some light off road trail riding. They also are quiet and ride and handle nicely on the highway.

The Mazda CX-50 and Subaru Outback are both capable crossovers, but they cater to different driving styles. The CX-50 offers a more dynamic driving experience with three powertrain options, including a new hybrid model (38 mpg combined), a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine (187 hp), and a turbocharged 2.5-liter option (up to 256 hp). It comes standard with AWD and Mazda’s Mi-Drive system for Sport and Off-Road modes. The Subaru Outback, known for its ruggedness, features a 2.5-liter BOXER engine (182 hp) or a turbocharged 2.4-liter version (260 hp) with a CVT transmission and standard AWD, designed for outdoor adventures.

@@txGarageit’s true, there’s a setting when you pair the phone to allow touch at all times. If not selected it’s only a touch when under like 10mph. Mazda software is still dial only, but android/apple is full touch or dial at the users choice.
