Maybe I don't wanna. I'm gonna style my bonsai like a school bus.

Yes I do! You can check out my latest long-form video, where I show what I do with my tropical trees in winter. It’s working wonders in the time they stay indoors

Hello! I was wondering, why do you remove bark from some of the branches?
@Bonsaifly
Жыл бұрын
To create dead wood. This gives age to the tree and is done with branches that don’t contribute to the design

Isn't it tilting the wrong way? Aren't they supposed to generally be forward leaning to add perspective of size? Or are you just styling a young plant with much future growth in mind?
@Bonsaifly
Жыл бұрын
Good questions: The apex is actually tilting forward, as not necessarily the whole tree but mainly the apex needs to come toward - every tree is different. The goal is to bring out the Bonsai in every (cheap) plant. Obviously you could let these grow to thicken for a couple of years but I make long form videos on more mature trees.

Why did he peel of the bark of that one branch?

Because I didn’t want the branch in the design, so instead of cutting it if I made a deadwood feature

It’s Bonsai cut paste. Here’s an Amazon link. Don’t know where you are in the world but maybe this is available to you. Otherwise maybe search for the brand online! amzn.to/3V3LBSV
