What type of music is this classed as? I have difficulty connecting it to reggae. Completely different vibrations in my opinion. Seems like a kind of music for people on heavy drugs. A room full of people all bobbing up and down, almost hypnotised. No soul or roots in the music at all. Foundation sounds need to return to Foundation music. The people would love it! Definitely not the Aba Shanti I and Iration, I grew up on! I get the evolution and all but I could not tolerate more than a few minutes listening and love reggae and soundsystem!

Dubs in a year 3000 style! I agree that it’s a completely different vibration to reggae music but it still sends me into a trance which no other musical genre can, and that’s whilst being under NO drugs or Alcohol. Having said that, I do agree that dub/reggae was at its peak in the 90s but For me, aslong as the tune has a great melody, vocal and heavy bass line, Like the one played in this video, im satisfied .

You do get foundation music at these dances but usually gets played earlier in the night. This video was taken about 4/5am by which time Iration playing their '3000 style' and Aba dropping tunes from Bushman, TNT Roots etc. I agree that if it was that style from start till done then it would get tedious rather quickly!

It’s not roots. It’s barely considered reggae. Only certain people attend these dances. And most of them do not deal with real roots or real reggae.
