Gipi's One Story was one of my favourite comics from 2020. A wonderful, emotional story of generations of pain, told through an incredibly evocative style from a master comic creator. One of the big things Gipi does in the work is change styles whenever he needs to convey something different about the world or the characters, or their connection to memories. So in this episode I wanted to look at how an artist style in a comic can suddenly become a way to show a subjective point of view, and reenforces the idea that drawn lines have an intrinsic narrative value.
