Great Info. Can place pump at the bottom of stream or use a "check" valve if pump is installed at the high end.

What size wire do the external pumps require? Can a 5,000 gph pump run on a 120 volt/20 Amp breaker with 12/2 wire?
@everythingponds

The Sequence 4K series pumps run on 120 volt. A Sequence pump that does 5000 gph would actually only use about 300 watts, so it's well within the limits of a regular household ciruit. In the larger power series pumps, you can order them in either 120 or 240 volt. A pump that does around 16,000 gph would use around 2300 watts, which starts to be a bit much for a normal 120 volt circuit.

Can I use a 4500gph pool pump for my 1000 gallon pond?

Also the aspect of children in the pond.. will start testing my submursible pump today in my new pond and start thinking about pumps above the pond or with other words - no elecrical cords in the water! Have that in mind if you planning a pond. In the usermanual on my new pump the producer says no people in the water when the pump is on....

Hello Dallin, thank you for your suggestion. We will consider it when planning our next video :) In the meantime here is an information page that outlines a general overview of pond plants - www.everything-ponds.com/plants-for-ponds.html. Hope this helps!

Do you typically to circulate the entire pond every hour?
@everythingponds

The general rule of thumb is once per hour at minimum. For larger lake sized ponds you can relax on that number. For more information and guidance on your pond feel free to reach out to us at sales@everything-ponds.com

i have a doubt on submersible pump head level. while diped in a pond.. is that the pumping head height is calculated from the bottom of the pond or from the water level of the pond ??
@TylerTervooren
3 жыл бұрын
It is calculated from the water level. Distance between submersible pump and water level is "free" because the water is doing the work. The pump is doing the work above water level.

Excellent explanation especially with regard to self priming and manual priming. Thank you very much sir. I am your subscriber now. Cheers.

this guy is just incorrect about reliability. Submersible pumps are usually longer lasting as the water cools down the pump much better. However, if you have dirty water, then yeah, he;s right.

Is it possible to use a back flow check valve above a surface pump to keep water in the pump? So it doesn’t need to be primed.
@everythingponds

You would need to find a way to fill the pipe with water between the pump and the check valve in order for that to work. If gravity would not fill the pipe, then it will not work. Feel free to email us a diagram of your pond design for review.

Hi. I have a question. How high can you install an external pump and how far away from the pond?? Thanks
@everythingponds
Жыл бұрын
They say that pumps push water better than they 'pull' water. The closer you can get the pump to the water intake, the better efficiency you will get. Ideally you would have your pump close to the same elevation as the pond surface - that will produce the best efficiency.
