Plant-based food for her young family’s good health: that’s why Phố Phạm scrapped the lawn for a backyard food forest. She lined the fence with seasonal vegetables-including 200 peppers-and potted up 300 fruit trees. Peaches, pears, plums, figs, guavas, and citrus head to the kitchen for right-now eating, along with preserves and spicy sauces. From a hydro grow tent, they harvest fresh mushrooms.
