Since private school fees aren't being paid by myself or anyone in my family, don't care. It's an issue of like 5% of the total population of school aged children and tax breaks for luxury schooling of the few does not help the majority. I'm sure it must feel like a large issue when you're a reporter, it probably affects your children, or a politician, ditto, but in a country where children are going to school hungry it's obscene to care this much about a subject that affects so few.
@cupguin
4 ай бұрын
@happytimes6113 Doesn't change how few children are involved. The overwhelming majority of children are not going to be part of the chosen few who are given access to the best schooling in the country. One or two exceptional children gaining access doesn't prove the system works, it shows how broken it is. The fact that the political class overwhelmingly takes advantage of a broken system for their own children, as well as journalists, is why no one is ever allowed to discuss dismantling the system. It benefited them, it benefits their family ergo the system must not change or knows what chaos might ensue. Some pleb from a state school might get a good enough education to become PM. Or all the best paying jobs might not overwhelming end up being the domain of the 5% that went to a posh school. That's practically anarchy if you're a parent paying for your child's inevitable success.

Sick of the Tory’s and labour. Our politics is broken. It might take 10 years but reform will one day be in power.

fake politicians of South Asian origin are trying to corrupt UK politics in the same way as in South Asia; they want to normalize a toxic culture in the UK.

Some might describe that as shooting her own party in the foot, but she hasn't been a Tory for quite some time. She shouldn't even be in the Conservative party now, except Sunak was far too weak to kick her out even when she started undermining him and hanging out with fascists.

Already are - the fertility rate has gone off a cliff over the last 20 years (down 20% just in the last 5), so the number of births is dropping every year. I'm 100% on the side that immigration is way too high btw, but it doesn't change the fact that the number of children is dropping and our average age is rising.

@@user-vc5zt9ci12 you are wrong only birth rates in native communities has dropped to 1.2 where other communities are at 3.5

@jaisriram295 Sure, that sounds about right... but the overall rate has dropped from over 1.9 to just over 1.5 in just 5 years or so. The immigrant population birth rate is higher, but the average birth rate is still falling ... I.e. the total number of births. Check out the demographics - the UK average age is getting much older. Why? Because there are more old people and fewer young people.

The Tories have lost their way and not grasped the nettle during their opportunity in government. If all the Tory voters were to get behind Nigel Farage, we might avoid a disaster of a Labour government.

What is the point in uniting Reform UK and the Conservatives? There are around a hundred one nation Conservatives that were against everything Suella tried to do.
