What are sugary foods?
Those junk foods like burgers, cookies. Foods commonly considered junk foods include salted snack foods, gum, candy, sweet desserts, fried fast food, and sugary carbonated beverages. Many foods such as hamburgers, pizza, and tacos can be considered either healthy or junk food depending on their ingredients and preparation methods. Fried indian foods like samosas, bhujia, pani puri, pakoda, kachori and icecream.
SUGAR attack :
When you eat something, Your tongue sends signals to your brain about what you’re tasting. Whether it is good, bad or yummy. Your gut and your brain work together, and release neurotransmitter dopamine into your blood. Dopamine makes you feel good, which reinforces that what you just did (eat something) is good. This pleasurable taste is kept in the memory in a brain area called hypothalamus which houses a part of reward system of our brain.
When it comes to sugar, your brain has an especially strong dopamine response. So, we keep craving it and craving more of it. That can lead to sugar addictions, a higher tolerance for sugar and eating more sugar to get that same dopamine effect.
SUGAR’S LONG-TERM DAMAGE on brain
Inflammation (that is the same process of redness and swelling of our body tissue) is very essential to our body, as a part of body repair process. However sugar, can also trigger excess inflammation in our bodies. Eating too much of sugar can lead to a state of constant low-level inflammation. Too much of inflammation
inflammation is the main culprit of health issues, like arthritis, autoimmune diseases (like rheumatoid arthritis), heart disease, stroke, diabetes and cancer. Inflammation in the artery wall damages the endothelial covering of the artery which causes atherosclerosis. This atherosclerosis causes blockage of brain and heart arteries causing brain stroke and heart attack. So this inflammation induced by sugar is the biggest killer of mankind accounting for more than 23 million deaths worldwide each year. Sugar can also affect your mood. Eating sugary foods can cause sudden spikes and drops in blood sugar levels making you =feel irritable, anxious and depressed.
