I bought this pedal recently because of this demo (no regrets either). Pete does such a great job giving you an accurate portrayal of gear. His chops/phrasing are tasteful and simply amazing; he's such a down-to-earth, humble guy. In a sea of gear, his demos help me sift through it all. His videos are entertaining, inspiring, educational, and for me...most importantly...HELPFUL!!! Keep on keeping on, Mr. Thorn!!!

My Eclipse arrived today. In a word this pedal is "Stunning"! Exactly what I hoped it would be. I plugged my Strat Plus w SD Hot Rails in the bridge into the Eclipse then into my little Blues Jr w a Celestion Creamback 65 spkr. I started with all of the pedal's EQ knobs at noon, gains and levels at 9 o'clock. Turned it on and it sounded absolutely perfect. Joy!!! The distortion is harmonically rich, smooth, refined and TIGHT....and yet at the same time it's very dynamic and cleans up well with my guitar's volume knob. Very polished, studio sound. I LOVE it!

I don't see why not. Especially if you turn the drive down and crank the volume on one or both of the channels. I think it's geared a little more towards rock, whereas I think a pedal like the Fulltone Fulldrive 2 is geared more towards blues. But I play Little Wing with my band and I use the Eclipse blue channel for just a touch of dirt for the intro and rhythm parts, then kick on the red channel which is set for more overdrive for the solos. My band plays everything from SRV, Beatles, The Cars, Stones, Police, Foo Fighters, Green Day... and the Eclipse sounds great with everything. It's all about how you dial in the tones you want. I'm really digging this pedal after having it for a couple of months and several gigs. Really versatile! Gonna try it with my Marshall soon...

Just took the online purchase plunge on the Eclipse. I need a versatile OD for a couple of my clean Fender tube amps. Great video Pete! I bought the Dual Fusion Pedal in 2015 and it only left the space on my pedalboard once to test other pedals, such as the King of Tone Analog Man. The Dual Fusion is my favorite pedal and also the best pedal I've ever bought. It will remain my favorite pedal in 2021. The right side of the pedal, the Euphoria, is my favorite. A test that I will still do is the Cornerstone Gladio SC and possibly also the The Soloist by KingTone.

I hope Suhr do another pedal in this config aimed at low gain/boost > medium gain. Running into my low wattage Voxy rig I think this one one would be too gainy for me, but this is the functionality I've wanted for 20 years - a simple toggle between an optimised dirty rhythm tone and lead tone.

Not exactly a new idea. The Blackstar LT Dual does a similar job. Is there a huge difference in sound between the two? There also seems to be a shift towards a clean amp sound and getting a driven rythmn and then lead sound, rather than using the drive input on the amp. Any reason for this? Great vids Pete, keep 'um coming.😉👍🤘

The cab emulator sounds a ton better than a lot of other hardware cab emulators as well as a lot of IR's. So I am guessing that the eclipse is somewhat close to being Suhr's "amp in a box" ? I like the voicing. Suhr makes great products.

Some blistering playing again Pete! I'm wondering if you've considered getting together with a singer to write and record an album together? Your playing style can stand on it's own but is also 'vocal friendly' from a writing perspective - I'd love to hear / see what a collaboration could come up with . . . bring on the rock masterpieces. The pedal has a lot of competition in the market and it's great that Suhr have come up with an original topology for their design. Great idea that voicing pot :)

I've been looking for a pedal that has two gain stages for my "on the go" board. Like the JHS double barrel, Wampler Duel fusion, Fulltone 2, Keeley D&M drive (hasn't been released yet). This is a great option. It sounds so damn thick I absolutely love it. The only thing I don't like is that I wouldn't be able to use one side as a boost. But maybe I'll just use a boost pedal or a tube screamer after this pedal
@johnmsuhr
7 жыл бұрын
The Dual boost works amazing in to the front, a tube screamer would thin it out, don't want that ! If you use a dual boost after you would have two more level settings, in the front you would have gain structure changes, use a boss ES8 and you can change the order on the fly ;-)

I'm very interested in this pedal. Is it possible, by playing a vintage strat, to set the first channel to a very soft crunch and the second channel to a classic rock lead tone or is the pedal to gainy and compressed for such a classic tone? Maybe it can reproduce come TS like tones by backing the lows and highs and dialing in some mids? Greetings from germany!
