I think the lyrics of Still Waiting work well today just as they did 15 years ago, all of the hate, the lies and contradictions we see in politics and social media, and how lonely people can feel inside in spite of how interconnected our society is at a glance, there's some deep meaning in these words, and that's something I'll always love about music

Same here I don't know what made me rind this band again. I have brain damage the doctors told me and it makes sense because I take really bad seizures and my first ones stopped my heart for about two to three minutes and I went into a coma for seven days. But there's a lot that's blank in my memory from my childhood and I was so going along to these songs and I did not know how they where so very familiar and the only relative I had left that knew what happened to me was my Mom (RIP) and she passed away June 27th of 2021. But I was adopted and estranged from my Mom and I was on my own at 16 so I never got to talk to her of visit so we never talked about the missing pages of my past. She told me one thing and it was kinda shocking so I did not ask anymore thinking she would have had at least five to ten more years but she had cancer of the bones, brain, lungs and stomach (God Be With Her) and she passed away within less then a month. It's been the hardest thing I've be dealt in life and I've struggled to no end. But the whole time since Mom passed I never thought about the fact that I will never know the truth about my childhood and there's so much missing and I get flashes but not enough to see or remember anything just enough to feel the past memories. So I was in a very dark place and crying and losing it a bit for the first time since she passed as I was trying to deny the fact she's gone and it just kicked in. I have no one now all my family does not deal with me because they don't know me as I was adopted and you can't just start a family relationship from nothing. My Dad disowned me because I use drugs and my Ex true love I was with for twelve years and the first girl I ever kissed left me because of my addiction, so did all my friends, I lost my home and alk I owned, I have nothing all the stuff I had has been stolen or ruined but the massive infestation my unit had from cockroaches then after they slowed down we got infested with Effing Rats and I've had them attack me, destroy everything and chew all my stuff and clothes, eat my food (and I go to soup kitchens everyday for food as I have none or nothing because I pay my rent and bills and get my dogs stuff and I have nothing. I almost starved to death after Mom died and I weighed about 95 to 100 lbs and looked like I was anorexic and scared myself as I never look in the mirror especially at my body or face and I seen every bone in my upper body and a hole In the middle of my chest. It was freaky I've never been that skinny and at almost six foot tall 95 lbs is deathly slim and I was about 165 to 175 lbs. It's been had plus on top of my seizures I have mental illness and am battling addiction and I am at the end of my rope. I've froze all my life, I've had little food all my life, I had to cut firewood by hand with axes and machetes for heat every day for years to stay warm. I've been in poverty all my life, I've never had anything worth anything, no tv or computer until I was 30, I've been clinically dead at least five or six times have the defibrillators used on me once to start my heart, I've had spinal taps, I've been in major car accidents and I have had a heart attack at about 28 from stress and have a myocardial infarction or a tare in my heart valve and I was in a home invasion and had six of my teeth kicked out, my eyes swollen shut, my lips turn black, my nose broke, concussion and lacerations, bruising and abrasions all over my head and face and bruised ribs. Fuck you are even going to believe alk this now that I write it but it's all no word of a lie. Sorry for my life story I just got going and it came our as I am a writer and musician of multiple instalments and I write my own songs. Check some out on my channel if you want I am self taught all the way with everything I know about music so it's not that great but I try. Thanks for you time and please be well and sorry if this was to long I tend to do that forgive me please. Gotta stop now sorry take care.

Punk has devolved into a bunch of idiotic teens who think the music is "edgy". This music is all about rebellion and sticking it to the man. Not coating your eyes with makeup and dressing like an idiot who belongs in mad Max. Punk is now emo. The worst way something can devolve. Bands like sum 41 have stayed punk and not devolved into that shitty stage of music now. Sorry for the rant. Had to blow of some steam.

It feels like the lyrics in this song have never rang truer than this moment in June 2020 as the USA, and some other areas of the world, protest, while others riot. Our cities are burning and being destroyed. People are saddened and angered across the world. I hope things get better and that the pain and chaos stops but unfortunately it seems like we may always be “still waiting”

??? Do you know what they're protesting about?? First of all the rioters are a minority, as are your "cities being destroyed"; second of all and more importantly, the protests signify something; there is something deeply wrong with a country when a man murders another one and gets off with just being terminated from his job. The pain and the chaos- shut up. The privilege to be white means you'd never understand the battle of colored people, but at least you could give a damn and try to educate yourself enough to understand what's going on.

I decided to delete my original response as I responded with more anger which does not aid our circumstances. Responding to hate with more hate solves nothing. So in the off chance you did see my original response to you, I apologize for the anger I responded with. And I will just simply say, you have misunderstood my comment and please re-evaluate the way you want to get your message across to others cuz this is not the way to do it. Attacking others (especially for things like white privilege when a person isn’t even white) is not going to get those people on your side, in fact it will only do the opposite. I fear that the way people are attacking one another; both vocally and physically, is only going to grow the racism in this country. If we worked on communication, I think we could make tremendous progress. Anyway, Have a wonderful day/night. ☮️

@@destinyxrose I didn't get any notifications so I'm just seeing this now. You seem like a nice person, you do. Your optimism is sorely misplaced. Honey, the police escalated the peaceful protests, you tell me who's attacking who. What kind of communication do you want? You want peaceful change (don't get me wrong, we all do but that's literally not possible), the protesters did what they did and Trump said, "Fuck that, we'll shoot you." My apologies for my assessment of you as a white person. Stay safe.

This song is so sad. They were a great band that everyone secretly liked, but hated in public. This is what this is about. Its a song about their progress as a band
