Sumatran Tigers: Critically Endangered in the Wild Habitat
The Sumatran tiger, scientifically known as Panthera tigris sumatrae, is the smallest of all tiger subspecies and is found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. They are the smallest of all tiger subspecies, but - they are just as fierce and formidable as their larger relatives.
Unfortunately, these magnificent animals are currently facing a critical threat to their survival, with only around 400-500 individuals left in the wild. Habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict have pushed these tigers to the brink of extinction.
