Thank you for sharing, that is so cool and I agree. From my perspective as a Canadian, Genshin has been a breath of fresh air that allows me to peek at other cultures in a non-stereotypical and more authentic way. Hollywood and our media in the West cannot do non-racist representation of other cultures to save their lives. I think with how busy our lives are it is easy to be consumed by the daily grind and forget to stop and reflect on certain things which bring us genuine joy. Sumeru is exactly what a game needs to be, not meta chasing or be a reward hamster wheel, but rather serve as escapism to give us an experience that is extraordinary and reconnect with what is important~

This kind of beat is always my favourite no matter the game, so whenever a music uses percussions this way I know it's gonna be one of my favourites. I'll never get tired of saying this, the variety of styles and instruments used in this game's ost never ceases to amaze me.
@VaioletteWestover

Yeah Genshin is in my view the most respectful game when it comes to representating a variety of cultures. Like when we went to Inazuma I think a lot of people expected ancient Akihabra with samurais and "anime music" but we actually received a fairly authentic representation of 1500s Japan. The music also elevates the cultural instruments to the forefront and feels authentic yet modern, while incorporating these sounds seamlessly into a full ensemble. They could've done what Western companies do and represented Sumeru in "that" stereotypical way with "that" stereotypical sound that every Western game does but instead they really dug deep into the human aspect of the region. I feel like I am seeing this region from the perspective of someone from the same cultural background and my Egyptian friend said the same thing. As a classically trained musician I can't even begin to comprehend the level of research and networking required to produce sound at this level to represent a culture not your own.

Genuinely one of the best music tracks in the game (and that's saying something, considering the competition).

Oh my god, I was dancing pretty comfortably to the music at first but then it picked the hell up and even I had to stop for a moment to be amazed. I love a lot of types of music but THIS kind specifically is the kind that I always feel like I can improvise a dance to. I can actually *feel* the dance moves I want to do! I want to swing my hips, twirl, and just move with the spirit of the beat-it’s the best! Sumeru’s soundtrack is, at least in my opinion, the most superior track 👌

YESSSS you perfectly described what I did when I heard it too, I just danced in a different style so naturally even though I rarely do it. 😅

Port Ormos has been my new fave spot for afk in game since first time i arrived there. I can work and afk on port ormos whole day just for listening to the soundtrack. ❤️

The Port Ormos music is easily some of the best in all of Genshin history, and will probably remain in at LEAST the top five for years to come.

I love how the Sumeru's main theme starts playing as soon as you approach the Akademiya. I used to watch the Trevails trailer over and over again for the last two years with this undescribable feeling of longing to visit these future regions. To be able to finally hear it in game just made me think, "I'm finally here".

Honestly as an Indian hearing this made me so happy because it sounded so familiar and pleasant to my ears😭 also I'm glad that people from around the world who play this get to think of a song something like this when they think of "Indian music" instead of "that one song" which became very stereotypical towards us 🥲
