why does the NADH from glycolysis only form 2 ATPs each instead of 3ATPs like the one in mitochondrial matrix?

If you watch my video in the biochemistry section, youll see that I use 2.5 and 1.5. I just rounded to the nearest whole number here.

Still its wrong. NADH always form 2.5 ATP. FADH2 forms 1.5 ATP

Really confused that why 2 NADH from glycolysis produce 4 ATPs, instead they should produce 6 ATPs like the NADH of Krebs cycle, as they go through ETC..?? Plz clarify..

He does explain it. NADH molecules that are formed in the cytosol (not in the mitochondrial matrix) only form 2 ATP molecules. The missing one (1) ATP molecule is used to transport the NADH from the cytosol to the mitochondrial matrix (where the electron transport chain occurs.)
