On June 12, 2022, I attended Steamtown's Railfest in Scranton, PA, to ride the excursion to Gouldsboro, PA. This was steamtown's first excursion on the Pocono Line since before COVID-19, and it had some good power: In the lead was DL&W F3 No. 664, and trailing was steamtown's flagship engine, Nickel Plate Road GP9 No. 514. Many people were gathered there to be a part of steamtown's return. I arrived there early, to get the excursion backing up and arriving at the station. Baldwin 26, the 0-6-0 that steamtown runs, was making its rounds through the yard on the caboose ride. After the excursion pulled up to the station, we embarked and proceeded to make the trip to Gouldsboro, passing through the Nay Aug gorge, tunnel, and beautiful scenery. After we arrived, my buddy picked me up and we raced up to the switch at ARMY to get them going to run the power around the train, as Gouldsboro does not have a siding. After that, I returned to the station, and helped myself to the refreshments that steamtown was offering. After a while, the excursion returned, this time with the 514 in the lead. They pulled back into the station and everybody boarded the train. We then made the run back into steamtown to end the day. Thanks for watching and like and subscribe!
