I've always taken my sons grocery shopping. Always. I think maybe part of the success is I've taken them since they were infants & the rules were the same everywhere we went so they just knew what was expected. I just finished chemo and radiation treatment the end of June, so of course I lost all of my hair. I do take daily biotin, but I also use a Rosemary in Castor Oil solution as well. It’s an oil that you rub into your hair/scalp, let it sit for about 15 minutes or so, then shampoo as normal. I just get it from Amazon. It comes in a brown bottle, and a little goes a long way. My hair is growing back in like crazy. Mr sister used it as well ( she was diagnosed with breast cancer just 6 months before me), and her hair came in very nicely…thick, and curly. She did have thicker, wavy hair before she lost it though. I’ll be anxious to see my final result, because I had baby fine, thin, straight hair. We always want what we don’t have, right? But so far, I’m encouraged. And bonus, it smells really nice, and clean. I don’t use it everyday, because I can’t shower everyday due to some skin issues afterwards the radiation, though I don’t think it would hurt anything. It’s worth a try!

I take my 3 kids grocery shopping with me all the time too. One of my favorite tips is if you're parking at a store that has a cart return corral thing (obviously not Aldi lol 😊), try and park in the spot right next to it so you can put your kids in the car when you're done and don't have to walk away from the car to return the cart because it's right there. At Aldi, I always walk all three girls with me to return the cart and then have to walk all the way back so it's nice at like Walmart to not have to do that.

We had such a terrible grocery experience a couple weeks ago that we got in the car after and I decided we needed to do it over, right there and then. I marched them all back in and we got a couple things but mostly I just browsed and they had to stay right with me and not touch anything 😳 I think I made my point, lol. They were much better behaved. So many learning opportunities if we take advantage of them

I grew up where you live and know Lititz! Your videos sometimes make me feel at home again. Its been 10+ years since I've been. My kids get so excited when we go into Kroger! They both love shopping in general. I have 13 month old twins, so its definitely different! For now, I do whatever can fit in the bottom of the double stroller if we go in the store. When they get older, if no double seat cart is availble they can sit in the main part and my 4 and 7 yr old walk of course. Its definitely different going from 2 kids to 4 kids! I feel like right now, any time I go out by myself with them its a mini adventure with 13 month twins in the mix (most of the time a good one but sometimes not so good!)

My mom took the 3 of us (plus whoever she was babysitting) grocery shopping all the time. One rule was if we were walking we had to hold one hand on the cart. It got so engrained in us we did it subconsciously. One time when my brother and I went to the grocery with my dad in high school we were both still holding onto the cart without realizing it and he was like “I don’t know what you guys like holding onto the cart. It drives me nuts!” 😂

I totally agree with you about training children on how to behave in public, to be considerate of others, to stay with you, be helpful, and to look with their eyes, not with their hands so they don't drop a jar of pickles in aisle 5! Also, children can learn to identify and read labels, so it enhances their reading & math skills.

If you have extra basil to use up, I've been adding basil to my smoothies and it is sooo good. I blend frozen mango, banana, plain yogurt, honey or dates for extra sweetness, milk or water, cinnamon, oatmeal (optional), and a handful of basil. It mixes so well with the mango flavour.

You mentioned garlic. I buy a 4 to 6 bags of peeled garlic, pop them all into my food processor and pulse it till I get a nice mince going. Then i put the minced garlic into Ziploc bags and use a skewer to make teaspoon and tablespoon sections/portions. Lay them flat in my freezer and let them freeze solid. When i need garlic i just pop off whatever amount i need. I do this for herbs, and onions and shallots as well. It saves a lot of daily time, and its less messy and i never have things going sad and bad in the fridge.

A number of years ago, I did a study on Time comparing it to Manna. God gave the Israelites what they needed for each day. If they tried to save it for another day - it went bad. God has given us a set amount of time each day for our good. If we try to "save over " things (procrastinate), it usually goes bad. Another aspect of time and manna has to do with preparing for the Sabbath. The Israelites knew to get everything ready ahead of time, since they would not receive any manna on the day of rest. We could learn a valuable lesson in this towards how we spend our time. If we would prepare for Sunday ahead of time, our day of rest would go so much more smoothly. Hope that's of some use to Josh as he prepares to preach next month. Blessings, Janell
