Why do these artist need to lecture/ hassle the public, their potential patron/customer. Very off putting and tedious. There is a time and a place .

Tessa, art has _always_ been a medium for social commentary - this is _precisely_ the time and the place. To think otherwise reveals an ignorance of what art is actually _for_ - *human expression.* To want to censor it is rather baffling... Art and entire art movements have been used for centuries to create change, and spread political and social messages in a way that traditional political action often can't. Many of the post-WW1 art movements became a form of protest against the obscene loss of human life.

I've just watched the BBC documentary about this exhibition, with Joe Lycett. A very enjoyable programme featuring an array of very pleasant people. The exhibition itself strikes me overall as a celebration of the oddball and bizarre, in the manner of Grayson's latest TV projects.

It seems art has become more of a statement of the current time ... Not so much on skill and painting techniques although there are still some very talented traditional artists ... I guess this show is a combination of all

Sort of. It's really just propaganda. One sided propaganda to increase demoralization , subversion and destruction of tradition.

No need, Robert, for the title does not currently say _"Meet _*_all_*_ the Artists."_ As we both know, only an absolute idiot would expect to meet all 1,000 artists in four minutes... In any event, the description box clearly says "We talked to *_some_* of the artists about how they approached the subject and how it feels to be on show at the Royal Academy. Pedantry is such a frustrating hobby, isn't it...

I'd like to spend more time looking at the Exhibition, but get rather tired and thirsty after about an hour, and normally leave :-) Is it possible to re-enter the galleries after having a rest and coffee in the place somewhere?

Hi Alex- I know how you feel! I'm afraid it’s one time entry for paid ticket holders. If you are a friend of the RA you would be able to leave and re-enter. Sorry about that.

You can go in and out of the _exhibition,_ just not the Burlington House building. People frequently have to, to visit the loo etc. It's not ideal as there is nowhere inside to eat or drink unless you're a Member or an Academician. You'll often find people pausing for even a mental breather on a staircase somewhere, but I think the essence is there isn't the space _inside_ for a refreshment centre. And I imagine, given the footfall is already significant, the RA doesn't want to encourage visitors to linger given the timed tickets. They do offer late nights though, I think which are slightly less frazzled...
