though i can MORE THAN understand your exhaustion i gotta be honest im genuinely going to be devastated when this series of pods is done! the 3 of you on a pod together is just such a perfect mix. I hope y’all find something else to pod about, but if not, i hope y’all know summer of champions is legitimately one of my favorite podcasts ever. i love all the fun insight but what i might appreciate most is how beautifully casual and silly it is. 👏bravo and THANK YOU!

You three have the greatest chemistry in modern podcasting!! I'd love to hear anything you put out with this lineup after the olympics are done :)

Sincerely love this show because you don’t need to be doing it but obviously love spending the time each day. Similar feeling to the survivor show that i love and don’t even really watch survivor like that. This feels like what podcasting used to be before everything became a marketing opportunity. Anyway, good stuff!!!

The Winter Olympics is excellent when you sit down and give it a chance. Curling is awesome, snowboard and ski halfpipe is unreal, the hockey in the later stages is pretty fun, and then there’s plenty of weird little events that you’ve never heard of. The games are shorter and there’s far fewer events/medals, so maybe it could be a simpler less intensive winter of champions.

I know y'all have pooh-poohed the Winter Olympics a bit, but if the Olympics is how we get the band back together, you could consider doing mini-sodes (or Minne-sodes as Skeets likes to call them) every other day over your favorite few sports or storylines when the Winter Games start in 2026... I don't know, just a thought! we clearly don't wanna lose y'all ahaha. just a few more days to go!

My great uncle Henry Zbikiewicz is often credited with inventing the Bloody Mary at the 21 Club in New York City for the comedian George Jessel in the 1930s. Ernest Hemingway also frequented this establishment around the same time period. My siblings and I started researching his life after he died several years ago and were shocked at how many accounts we've read about our great Uncle Henry inventing the Bloody Mary at the 21 Club in Manhattan.

I'm pretty sure the modern pentathlon was designed to be what skills a modern solder (modern at that time) needed to survive alone. Hence the sword fighting, running, swimming, shooting, and being able to ride a random horse you find.

The Jokic foul that resulted in 6pts in one possession doesn't seem right (KD 3 then side ball which led to another 3). I thought it should have been 1 FT for the player who was fouled at the same time KD shot it. It was a game changing call.
@melian9999

The refs helped. Curry had a offensive foul no call, Lebron with a blatant carry, no call, AD flopping to get Jokic to 4 fouls. Lebron fouled Jokic twice, no call. All in the fourth, when they're down, to meet Wemby in the final. Serbian coach screwed up the end but it was shit reffing.

@@melian9999you can literally do this for any game. Serbia had tons of chances and got cold in the 4th and looked tired.

@blueguy1995 costly turnovers were the reason, but the momentum changed as soon as Jokic got his 4th. I know it happens in every game, i just hate superstar calls. Curry headbutted bogdan in the chin to get space, if the roles are reversed, the whistle is blown. The reffing was bad the whole tourney. Moving screens in particular

One of the javelin announcers said something hilarious the other day: “There are two kinds of javelin athletes, those that have had surgery and those that are going to have surgery.” I guess it’s like a more extreme version of being a major league pitcher.
