Tx: 08 November 1987. Imagine the LWT Green Room for that edition - Frank Bruno, Bette Davis, Patricia Hayes and Robert Kilroy-Silk.

It’s so sad how much potential was destroyed by cigarette addiction.. she would’ve never had that stroke (which totally destroyed a major portion of her acting ability) and I FULLY believe she would’ve played another Oscar winning performance and lived another 20 years than she did.

James Cameron never would have cast her as Old Rose in Titanic because she didn’t have range as an actress.

@@lewisedwards4058 it’s the thoughtlessness of it for me, to do it for a joke in the privacy of her own home is one thing but to say it on tv knowing that blackface is a mocking artform is the height of stupidity. I credited her with intelligence but she was too much of a narcissist thinking people would actually find this funny.

There was no racism in what she said - she’s explaining dressing entirely in black - it’s a sign of mourning in Western culture. It has absolutely nothing to do with racism for goodness sake.

@@BLTKellysthat’s from a 2023 perspective. She wasn’t dressing as a black person. If you’re too dumb to understand that then I wish you well in your perpetually offended world.
