This looks really durable, which is nice. It's hard to differentiate the junk from legitimate solar products on Amazon. Good video.

Thanks US! Great portable solar. If I camped more than I do now, I would get this one!

I got this foe bicycle touring. When I pulled it out of the box i was glad I got it. It seems very durable. Need to start testing it out on charging my anker 737. Wonder if this will hook up to a anker 548.

@@Robert-tj3qq it’s nice. It’s kind of big but no problem with the trailer, wouldn’t use for backpacking though.

What I like most about this panel is the mesh pouch covering the control box so water can get in there and clean out the electronics. Electronics work a lot better when you hose them out with water. I should know, I'm a computer tech! Great review. What's the open circuit voltage? 38w seems a little low. My 60w panel which has an open circuit voltage of 23.8v regularly gets 45-52w in good sun. I'm wondering if it has a lower open circuit voltage and you're not getting the max you can out of it. Could also be the USB box eating a lot of the power. My panel I specifically chose because it has a DC bypass lead so you can bypass the silly USB box to get max power out of it.

Mesh pouch so after the box goes through a rainstorm it will dry out sufficiently

Well that's good to hear. Interesting panel. I wonder if they will work in series or parallel. Could be an option for my ebikes saddlebags with my boost converter to charge up the battery. Love the portability. I'm assuming it's a 5.5x2.1mm standard barrel plug output. Doesn't matter really, I'll make it work regardless. Even if it was bare leads, as long as the panels are good. Great video by the way.@@magruder82

looks like it can at least do parallel. Sunjack sells a 60w parallel kit on their site, which includes two 60w panels and a parallel adapter cable. Not sure how it will work on your saddlebag. That's an interesting use case, but seems like it might be too big for that purpose (compact for 60w, but large regardless). Depends on how much space you have. The unfolded dimensions of one panel is 47" x 14.5" x 1". @@chrissinclair8705

This looks like a winner. I had a Power Film that was a complete dud. Had a built in battery that died and made the panel itself useless. Don’t remember the exact number but the company wanted $100 to change the batteries out. Now, it’s a paperweight
@UrbanSurvivor

Wonder what the point of the built in battery was to begin with but that sounds like a terrible idea lol. I feel like a panel like this one could easily last for decades...

@@UrbanSurvivor it wouldn’t be so horrible if at least it was some user replaceable 18650 or 21700. I looked at swapping myself, but there are many solder joints that need to be undone just to disassemble and access the battery, so it sits for now. I may salvage the panel from it, but I think it’s just a 30 watt. Definitely wouldn’t have gone this route if I understood this stuff more thoroughly at the time.
