Over the Labor Day weekend, we were both not yet caught up with work and home stuff from our long summer road trip and itching to get back outside. The parks can get pretty overwhelming on these holiday weekends but we find that if we can start the trip early, we can find some quiet. On this weekend, we drove up Friday night for an evening of car camping and hit the trails early Saturday morning with our friend Hitch. Despite the holiday weekend, we were far enough from a road that we barely saw anyone until we reached the Deep Creek Trail (which is popular for tubing). We enjoyed hiking together in 'the green,' stretching like the old people we are during snack breaks, and picking up new miles.

We are Kelly & Michelle of Drive Hike Repeat. A few years ago we decided to try to hike every mile of every trail in every National Park. There are about 9200 miles of trail in the current 63 National Parks and we are over 36% done.
Thanks for joining on our adventure of a lifetime. We're here to have fun so if you have something negative to say, please just move on.
If you're interested in supporting our journey, you can follow us here, on instagram, or on Facebook. Kelly's prints are for sale at fineartamerica...
