One of the best bands Australia has produced, and one of the least known outside Australia.

Thank you so much for posting this time warp. This song still gets stuck in my head sometimes and it’s an immediate flashback to being thirteen

Colemann my friend....know now that you are not alone ...many silent people and watchers agree, I can assure you. Listen in the dead of night...you will hear this music from far away and then you will know the truth.

@@matildafaltyn6253 Just the 3 albums, 4 If you include the reunion one. Only the first of which went gold unfortunately. Jeremy was a flawed genius who’s problems ended the band and plagued the band from the second album onwards. Some of which was his fault. Some of which wasn’t. It all just feels like a bit of a waste to me.

@@JCStorm76 I gather than Jeremy had substance abuse probs? There are a few aussie wonder bands that should have made it big internationally but for various reasons never did. Apparently The Sports were not willing to lick arse to make it on the world stage. Others like Spy vs Spy and Mondo Rock and The Models probably similar trajectories. As I listened to one of Sunnyboys hits Need a Friend he talks about how hard and awful life is but I can't help thinking they had no idea how good they had it. Look at the world today sheesh.

@@matildafaltyn6253 All great bands. Stephen Cummings rarely speaks very fondly of his time in The Sports though which is unfortunate. Yeah Jeremy had alcohol and schizophrenia issues. In fact it only got worse after The Sunnyboys ended, he was in a couple of other bands during this time but nothing really came of it. He wrote at least two songs, Happy Man and You Need a Friend completely from his brother Peters persceptive, who was also in the band, and not his own, which is pretty odd if you think about it

Great track by the Sunnyboys. Unfortunately this clip is a typical 80's overtly stylised piece that sells the song short.
