i am 100% on board with chris' transition, and am even gnc myself, but this is a weird ass take tbh. if I say "use any pronouns" I'm literally not going to care what people refer to me as, and that's the point. you're angry on someone elses behalf and operating under the assumption they wouldn't just say "use she/her" - its giving karen energy sure you can get into a whole thing about societal pressure, but ultimately you can't really call cishets bad for doing what someone trans tells them to do. that's counterproductive af. some people might say "any pronouns" and mean "switch it up sometimes" but there's no information to dictate one way or another if that is the case with a person if they DO NOT COMMUNICATE IT. its not that hard. you can't half ass your communication and then yell at people for not understanding what your intentions were, especially on the internet where people think satire isn't satirical.

Was literally thinking about how I was hoping to hear about this issue from a trans person’s perspective when I saw this video in my recommended. Really glad you spoke on this. It also legitimately warms my heart how many cis people (cis men in particular) are calling out Sunny on his clownery. To see so many prominent people online who may otherwise be silent on trans issues stand up for Chris is just nice to see. Especially given a time where it feels like no one wants to listen to trans people talk about how we’re fighting to not have our human rights taken away.

The thing is the ‘opinion’ that Sunny is showing is just “I don’t think they have the right to exist”. How can you think that this is a valid point that should be argued? Not to mention the way that he keeps phrasing it as a question of “Is this a good or bad thing for Mr. Beast?” instead of “Is this a good thing for Chris?”. The reasons against Chris’s transition are all related to Jimmy, but it’s THEIR transition, the conversation should be about THEM. Chris is a freaking person, not a character or an asset.

@@currentlyeatingrocks8954 on that front, I, for starters, find one of his formats distasteful. The whole "I make poor people do tricks for money" thing he often releases feels exploitative. Considering his audience's age range, that's poor values in entertainment to me: it glorifies the benevolent rich friend of the people trope that makes the young uncritical to the nature of our system. Also, his chocolate and snacks company Feastables uses child slave labor, it seems, so maybe he could change contractors there (and lose a lot of money, I'm sure). I don't consider those some sort of condemnation of him as a person, more the symptoms of getting to the wealth group he's in. I'm not fond of how he presents this to his kid and young adult viewers though.

I really didn't think Mr beast would actually take a side. Often times in situations like this the trans person is left to fend for themselves and the cis people skate past without ever having to pick a side. So I fully expected Mr beast to maintain a friendship while also not getting involved because why would he (i say this as someone who is often disappointed by my cis allies)? Yeah, by Proxy. It's a quote by some old Roman dude. It's a simple quote and a great way to justify fascist bigotry and violent suppression of people they call "weak." I remember I used to listen to sunnyV2’s videos in the background while I did schoolwork because it was just noise to cancel out distractions. They were never particularly interesting from what I can remember, but there wasn’t anything that I saw that could’ve signaled this bs happening. I forgot about their existence for months until everyone started talking about their video on Chris, who I didn’t even know existed. It’s crazy to call anyone a “threat” to their friend’s brand just because they’re changing to be more comfortable with themselves. I hope Chris and his family are doing well and that this hasn’t hurt Chris themself in any way.

I´m actually writing my master´s work related to masculinity (the title is way too long and too specific for me to put here lmao), so when you screamed at 8:33 that´s exactly how I scream having to write about men in forums arguing with each other about whether or not some foods are able to turn you feminine...When I first saw the SunnyV2 video being talked about on twitter it just felt like I was seeing yet another dudebro lamenting the "declining state of masculinity" and the ongoing cis mentality of making someone else´s gender experience all about themselves. Being trans and already writing about a similar topic, I had to mute this guys name because it was getting too much. But I´m so glad to have clicked on this video. I appreciate that Mr Beast spoke out in support of Chris and I hope more men with rotted fandoms start openly defending trans rights. It hurts to see a person be made a spectacle for being themselves and doing everything in their power to live and live happily. I hope, just like I hope for any of my trans siblings, that everyone who loves them gives them the support they need to get through such an awful time. Anyways hoping to support you on Patreon soon! ^^ Awesome video as always!
