Alex! Hi. I’m a long time fan and I’m looking for a video you posted like. A decade ago. You don’t have to respond to this message but this video is really important to me and I’m trying to backtrack my chronological discovery of KZitem. And it started with your video of how to solve a Rubik’s cube. Which sadly doesn’t seem to exist anymore. Anyways. I was subscribed to you back in the good ole nerimon days and still enjoy your videos. And I don’t know why it’s so important to me to pinpoint the exact date of this video but...if not for 13 year old me wanting to know how to solve a Rubik’s cube I would have never found that video...and then I would have never watched the rest of your videos and Charlie’s videos and the vlogbrothers and so many others! It was a really important part of my young life so if you have that video or just the date it was posted I would be very grateful for information on it. Also there’s a nail salon in my hometown called Alex Day salon...for some reason. And I think of you every time I pass it. Great video by the way.

The fact is he was not making any money here on KZitem anymore and now that he has a 'normal' paid job outside of social media (in computing I think) he has no reason to post videos anymore. @@cttranvu2307 - Alex is certainly not a billionaire. In fact quite the opposite! He’s hardly made any money from KZitem for years. Any money that he made from his music from years ago has long since been spent. It’s now got to the stage where he’s had to train for a full time day job and now charges fans to see past videos that he’s made. Basically, he’s put all his past behind him now and is just looking towards his new future career and life. So he’s basically given 2 fingers to all his haters from the past and arranged it so that they are no longer able to comment or criticise him from now on as he has disabled all comments on his videos.

Love the new album Alex! I remember you quoting Taylor Swift a while back when she said she saw why one of her album's didn't win the nomination it was up for, and I remember you saying how her reason kinda resonated with you and that you maybe wanted to focus on attaining the same sound goal for your music, or along the lines of all that. I think you really did do a better job of making this album have a unified sound or more of a solid "feeling" to the whole of it while still having each song be it's own unique thing. Personally I think I like all the songs on most accounts. I think the production of the sound is super clean compared to your past albums. Your lyrics are signature Alex Day writing. Your voice/annunciation is slower and clearer than ever before which gives the sound of your singing a better spotlight and you did a good job of letting your voice stand out from the music. I feel like in some of your past songs it used to get muddled in with the music a bit at times. I think the only song from this album I would personally tweak if it were me doing a cover or something (which won't happen, I have no singing talent whatsoever) would be the Sleeping in my Grave song and it's only because I don't like the repetition of the word "sleeping" as the chorus. I felt like the rhythm was too slow for such a quick repeat of the word for each chorus. I would have preferred if you just went ballad with it and let your voice drag it out slowly but harmoniously. I think it would have felt powerful and a little sad but in a happy way? But that's the only thing and I think it reflects more of what my own personal taste is rather than what your personal sound is and you're the one with the talent producing the music I like! Happy I could have helped support the making of this at some point in time! Please don't ever stop making music Alex! You are truly gifted in it! I hope it always makes you happy to create it ☺

Hey Alex. I’m really late to this but I wanted to say a couple things. I love your music with Chameleon Circuit. Five years ago I discovered you guys and I instantly fell in love with your music. I loved both albums and I still do. I eagerly awaited another CC album. But then I heard last year about what happened, the mistakes you made. I still don’t fully understand what happened or why you did what you did, but I don’t want to hate you for what you did. You did bad things but you did good things too. You made music that made many people happy. It seems a lot of musicians make bad mistakes, since the beginning of time I guess. I guess what I’m saying is that even though I’m upset with what you did, I’m glad you made music and I loved it while it lasted. I still listen to Chameleon Circuit songs to this day. So... Thanks for the music.

Following a new video from Charlie, lead me on a rabbit hole checking out all the old KZitemrs I used to watch, and I can't help but feel a tremendous amount of sympathy for Alex. I am not fully clued up on the allegations and I am sure there are no good excuses for it, but I am almost certain that he did not deserve his career to crumble around him the way it did. When you look at modern KZitemrs and see what they get away with, all the while with millions of more subscribers and views whilst being unapologetically bellends. Alex made mistakes and has paid dearly for them. Current superstar youtubers can do no wrong, which to me highlights how youtube has changed in the last decade from being a community platform with strong moral compass, to a corporate money making machine. RIP to the youtube I knew growing up, and I hope you have found happiness and success outside of the toxic online world Alex.

I'm gonna be real. And have thinking about this album all morning after listening to it while getting ready for work. I get the idea you were going for with the 'this is my brain, this is my mess and what it sounds like" theme. But I don't think I like it. A few songs sound like you're trying to hard to be a better singer than you are and add flare to your songs with runs and such. (But I also didn't like added runs in the lion King remake sooo.lol). They can enhance a song if done well or ruin a song. I know you aren't the proudest of your old songs, but one thing that makes them work is that your not trying to be better singer than your skill at it. They are just based on lyric and Melody. And your voice is nice but it sounds better with simple singing. If that makes any sense. I feel like this album is more benefit to your haters, to give them an album they can go "yeah he's finally failed" coz it I think is your worst album you've made. It seems more of a self pitty focused album, where not a lot of effort was put into the writing. Like a 'fuck it' album. But I know you can do tons better. Your a good song writer. I usually love your music, but this I was saddened by. I was hesitant on writing a negative review coz I felt this album came from a very delicate state of mind and I don't wanna make you feel bad. I completely support you and your music and usually love them. But this, I really was disappointed. I hope your able to find your inspiration to make the music I know you can :) sorry.

It's called constructive criticism. And yeah good luck, that's not how KZitem works, you can't just delete comments you don't like. That's my opinion, I tried giving feedback in a constructive manner. So I can care less what you think Sara. I don't like the album for such and such reason with ways I think that could improve his music. There may be some harsh points, but sometimes you gotta get straight to the meat of it and there isn't nice way things when it's a negative review even when your trying to be as nice as you can. It's not like I don't care. I could have been WAY more mean to my response to you as well. But I won't.
