A Southern Pacific Sunset Limited train runs on the the HO-Scale DCC layout at the Randall Museum Model Railroad.
The train is pulled by Southern Pacific GP9 #5622. These were commonly nicknamed "torpedo boats" due to the air tanks on the roof, allowing the locomotive to have larger fuel tanks. Manufactured around 1955 and equipped with steam generators, these were used for passenger service.
Its sister engine, #5623, has been fully restored and can often been seen in action at the Niles Canyon Railway. More info at www.ncry.org/about/collection... and www.trainweb.org/sp5623/
The HO-sized 5622 is Walthers 920-42719.
The Sunset Limited coaches are from Rivarossi.
The 2 last cars are CC&F Lightweight Coach Southern Pacific from Rapido, provided by Allen.
