I love launching at atcham. Thanks for the video and thanks for mentioning respecting the farmer! So important that access is kept clear for them and that we keep on the right side of these fab landowners. 👍

Indeed, blocking access and people walking over his crops/newly planted field is a sure fire way to lose access to the beach! Thank you for watching 👍

I'm not sure if the Riverside pub has mended their access it's 6 miles downriver. Two miles before Cressage

It hasn’t. They don’t seem to be particularly bothered about it either unfortunately. It’s noted in the video description.

Access has now been removed from this location. Due to idiots lighting fires on the gravel beach and cars blocking gateways and road

Yes, so I found out last week, thanks for the reminder, I'll update the thumbnail now you've reminded me! I didn't know the reason though. I guessed it must be something to do with blocking the gate, and quite possibly people walking onto the field. Idiots indeed. Such a shame, not only for paddlers but the people who would go there responsibly. It's been a long time since I've been out on the water, due to health issues and weather. Finally managed to get back out last week. Maybe I'll see you on the water soon, keep paddling!

Shame that access has been lost due to the idiots. However, I will be launching here and if I have to be an idiot for the day to do so then so be it. I'm sick of access being removed all along this stretch that has been used for decades and sick of the excuse that because idiots exist, the rest should lose all freedom. Not a chance. Just in the past month I've been told i can't launch in all 5 of the spots I've done so respectfully for 30 years without bothering a soul or damaging a damn thing. Maybe my stance is irrational through anger but i couldn't care and if I'm assumed an idiot by default, equal respect will be reciprocated. Balls to em all, I'm done being nice.

I don't blame you. I've since seen people going in and out at that point regardless, you're not the only one. But obviously I can't condone that. If only the rules were like Scotland with regards to land and water access. Then there would be access everywhere and hot spots (where litter may build up, or damage done) would be a far rarer thing. Thanks for commenting, maybe I'll see you out on the water sometime!

@@ClutchSup happy to update that the access is back open down to the beach via the usual path at the edge of the field. See you out there 👍
