This zamindar house was founded around the 9th century by Zamindar Jadunath Roy, who was originally a trader who imported betel nut salt and sugarcane from Barisal and exported it to Murshidabad, Kolkata. Zamindar Jadunath Roy was the father of five children so he built four more houses for them separately which are now known as Kapil Payari Zamindarbari. Descendants of these zamindars were some of the rich families of Bengali lands during the British period. Among the zamindars, the name of Raja Srinath's Priyanath is notable. They earned the title of Raja from the British government as a result of their actions.
