🍮 INGREDIENTS 🍮
1/2 cup sugar for the caramel
3 eggs
12 oz can of evaporated milk
14 oz. can of condensed milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
dash of cinnamon (optional)
🍮 STEPS 🍮
1) Mix the eggs, evaporated milk, condensed milk, vanilla extract and cinnamon in a mixing bowl.
2) Melt sugar in a pan on low heat. Once it starts to melt, swirl the pan to help move it along. DO NOT stir it with a utensil, touch it with your hand or taste test it. You'll be severely burned.
3) Once the sugar is fully dissolved and is golden brown (sweeter) or amber (more bitter) in color, immediately pour it into your ramekins. It will harden quickly.
4) Pour your flan mix into the ramekins. Place them into a tray.
5) Preheat your oven to 300F.
6) Add boiling water to the tray.
7) Bake for 40 to 45 minutes at 300F.
8) Remove and serve immediately or let cool to room temperature.
9) Once cool, refrigerate for 2-4 hours or overnight.
10) When ready to eat, use a knife to separate the flan from the ramekin surface.
11) Place a plate on top of the ramekin. Flip both the plate and ramekin.
