Could it be Total Electric Guitar Hot Licks video?

@@ksharpe10 that's the one 🙌 some of my favourite tones and playing from EJ, the rig he has on that video is incredible

@@paulbradshawguitar You probably already know this but: That was Eric's old 100watt setup, he had something happen causing tinnitus in about 1994, and switched to a 2 deluxe reverb setup, and most likely 50watt marshalls, The Dumble the power supply went out and Eric pulled it out of the lineup, Santana Owns that Steel string singer amp. now, he loaned it to amplified Nations owner who used it to base his version of a steel string singer. I still regard that particular hot licks video as my ALL TIME Favorite of all of them. And there were quite a few Great ones for sure that and Star Licks. All his other videos are great to, the 96 the year 2000 or so are good too. Hopefully you have seen those. Nice Job on this preset.

@@ksharpe10 thanks, great info, i definitely love the sound of that old setup, didn't know about the changes, but have seen the updated setup on stage before, i've only seen snippets from his other videos (fine art of guitar i think it is) incredible guitarist in any case

ah maybe you're on mac? if so once you've unzipped the folder: In Finder, open up the folder. Press Command+Shift+Dot. .syx files are hidden by default on mac for some reason, they're definitely within the zip file in any case

might be firmware related , are you on the latest axe fx 3 firmware/ axe edit ? this was done on an FM3/firmware 7 and latest version of axe edit

try using axe-edit to import the preset, should work through there if the firmware/axe-edit versions line up right

Hi Paul,how are you mate ? The Filter you use,should all Strat users do same on all presets ?I too use a Strat,my input meter never ever tickles the red indicator...is that an issue that prevents reaching a nice sounding preset ?

all good thanks and yourself? So My FM3 / input pad is set to my highest output guitar (i think the pad is on 12 if i'm not mistaken) , I don't adjust it when i plug in my single coil guitars, which hits two greens/sometimes into yellow, adjusting it does help but as I switch guitars a lot I just leave it on the setting i have for my high output guitars With regards to the filter block as a clean boost, that's what i like to use for clean boosts as it's also a visible block that you can turn on/off depending on how you set up the amp and if i might want to cut lows etc.. you can otherwise also use the Output Level of your Input 1 block, to boost level, and then use different channels depending on how much boost you want or even different gate settings, that's also quite effective For my presets and setup I like to keep the Gate OFF in the Input block, and use a separate GATE block if i need it, i prefer how things respond that way I've otherwise basically applied to presets how i like to set up pedals into an amp in the real world with say my single coil guitars (and sometimes even humbuckers) , i really like how clean boosted single coils guitar into edge of breakup style amps, it makes a nice difference to the sorts of tones you get out of an amp i find and the same applies within the fractal unit, at least in my experience it's got to sound and feel good to you ultimately

@paulbradshawguitar Thanks for the reply Paul 🙂. But do you think that when using low output volume guitar like the Strat,this has an impact on the sound quality ?and thus we should either use a boost like you did or maybe increase the Input Gain in the Amps menu 🤔? Yeah,I also find that when disabling the Gate in the input block the amps sounds better than with the gate on. What's the best way you found to create a preset that will sound nearly identical in a live gig on PA system?On Studio headphones ,monitors or frfr ?
@paulbradshawguitar

@@thierrysooprayen9334no i don't think the sound quality will suffer because of that, it'll sound/respond differently but nothing wrong with that. amps will respond/sound differently depending on the guitar, that's sort of what we want :) luckily we can easily experiment and see what works best as to dialing in tones, i use studio monitors at home, as i also mix/produce electronic music with my side project: airship81 i have a decent sort of setup, + eq correction for my room so as to get a relatively flat response to mix with important thing is to have some reference points and aware of how your room might be affecting your tones for example if your room is very boomy sounding, you might dial out loads of bass or if headphones sound a certain way and you dial in your presets to suit your headphones but that won't necessarily translate at a live gig

What I like to do is follow along and build the preset with the presenter. Learn a lot that way. Came out perfectly. Great perc at the end with Leon's Humbucker to Singles EQ. And the reminder to turn off the Filter. Nicely done, Paul. Absolutely love my FM9. I added a Sonic Drive, Blues OD, and Looper so I can create some presets and jam along. 🥂
