OMG you are costing me a fortune, firstly I need new containers for my flour and sugar so I can get my cup measures to fit, I'm from the UK so don't generally use cup measures, secondly a whole new wardrobe with all this friendship bread eating I am expanding by the day! I am loving this series and plan to print out all of your recipes and hand them to friends as gifts this Christmas, why should I be the only one to get fat! (or fatter lol)

Rachel you had me at double chocolate. I especially love to see you and hubby enjoy the results. The crunch tip is welcomed. I've used coco to coat a pan. I've used sugar on pie crust but the combo is excellent for the bread. I so enjoy all your videos.

I’ve never had that, might need to try it. Maybe a pumpkin version or apples and cinnamon. Maybe bake in a donut pan. Or soft cookies, chocolate with peanut butter chips. Crepes even? I definitely need to play with this one….after the holidays. Thanks for the recipes!

Looks yummy!!! I made 4 of the Amish Friendship cinnamon loaves day before Thanksgiving. They were delicious as I remembered from the 70's. I ran across an old newspaper article with my recipies ( I knew I had this stored away) from a local newspaper way back when on the Amish starter. They had about 3 recipies in it. German Pineapple Herman, Herman White Bread and Herman Yeast Rolls. I also found a recipe card that I wrote out for Herman Oatmeal Cookies. BUT..........I also found (from the 70's) a really fun Friendship topping mix!! This was such a colorful mix to have on the counter and delicous over Vanilla Ice Cream. In a glass container or jar add 1 cup sugar, 1 cup peaches, 1 cup marischino cherries , 1 cup pineapple (canned fruit no juice to the mix) and 1 jugger rum. Stir well and let sit on counter. 2 weeks later, add 1 cup peaches, 1 cup sugar and 1 jigger rum and stir. 2 weeks later add 1 cup cherries, 1cup sugar and 1 jigger rum and stir, 2 weeks later add 1 cup pineapple 1 cup sugar and 1 jigger rum. Keep the top loose on the jar and never put in the refrigerator. You can use some after the first 2 weeks and then just keep adding every 2 weeks to it with fruit.

Hi,love your videos!I have learned so much and you make it so simple to understand the whole process of canning.But I was watching your video on canning lids and was wondering if you have used the Lehman lids? I'm considering trying them and just wondering if you have any opinions on them.they are suppose to be thicker and have a blue seal,or are they just as good as the name brands?just wondering.

Mz Rachel I noticed you use box milk I do the same thing because I don't use enough unless the grandsons are here. I'm not sure if you know that Dollar Tree carries box milk they carry it in whole milk 2%, 1% and almond I buy it all the time for $1.25 a carton I usually buy it by a six pack or a 12 pack and keep it because we all know it's really Self Stable and the whole milk tastes just like fresh whole milk.. I thought I just let you know that in case you weren't aware I don't know how much you're spending on your cartons but $1.25 to me is pretty reasonable

Maybe I had particularly sensitive ears today but I had to turn the video off. Idk if it is possible to adjust the sound when you are working (the sifter and chocolate chips 🙉👂‼️) vs speaking or if you've considered a lapel mic so it doesn't pick up the surrounding noises so much. Idk. The bread looks awesome and if I ever make a friendship bread starter I would absolutely try to make it! I enjoy your Channel very much . I don't think I've had to turn one off before. Edit: typos

It looks amazing! I'm not from the US and we don't have instant pudding mix here, I don't really know what it is, even after googling 😆 not sure what we'd be able to supplement. The word 'pudding' here generally means 'dessert' so it can be anything from cake to pie to ice cream. Though an actual pudding here is a baked sponge desert with sauce, just to be confusing. I'd love to try this starter but definitely need to do some more research before figuring out how to use it in a similar way. Anyway, its been an interesting baking journey to follow you on :)
@cynthiafisher9907

I live in the US and I think you would have to find some kind of instant cornstarch in order to replicate instant pudding mix. You might be able to just make this recipe with powdered milk, more cocoa, sugar and cornstarch. That would actually probably work, since it is baked anyway. Here, what we think of as pudding is milk and eggs cooked with some kind of flavoring until it’s thickened. Then we put it in the fridge to set and eat it cold. I don’t really care for it myself, but most people do.
