Most of the Pinoy that rolled southerners blended in with the rest of the homies. Especially since most had Spanish last names. The Pinoy hood is called Satanas, but many people say “Santanas.” There are different origen stories but they were once part of Temple St and split. Although Temple St still has many Filipinos. Another story is that they started in Delano with the Philipino farm workers, or specifically when those kids moved to Los Angeles. Like most groups from that era I believe they were either a car or boxing club.
@realtalk6195
17 күн бұрын
I've heard someone claiming Satanas say they weren't ever part of Temple Street at all. They just had family members from TST. It's believable since STS was out decades before every other Filipino gang. There's not many Filipinos in LA TST today, it's mostly Hispanic. The older Filipinos moved out or aged out. That's why their hood is "Historic Filipinotown". TST is huge in the Philippines though.
@AMZ19252
17 күн бұрын
@@realtalk6195 You are correct, in that what you were told is what many say. I’ve heard both from old school Pinoy and TST. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. They weren’t apart of TST but hung around. Going way back these groups weren’t seen as much of a gang so that delineation wasn’t as clear. The last time I spoke with a Filipino that was active was about 20 years ago so my info is a bit outdated. I know in San Diego county you get some the mix of Filipinos who are sureños, in black gangs, mixed Asian gangs, or solely Filipino.
@1234-bh2su
15 күн бұрын
@@AMZ19252 the Filipinos from temple street were uncles and older cousins. It was family ties. They were protecting their nephews and little cousins but they weren’t part of temple. That’s why people thought they came from them. The original Filipino gang in LA that people don’t talk about was Sigue sigue comandos which was a prison gang back in the Philippines. But satanas was the first home grown fil-am pinoy gang. They used to gang bang wearing nurse scrubs…no joke they were packing big guns

Right on for finally showing love to my people Gun. We often get left out by both the asians and the islanders. We somewhere in between and realistically, we are the group of people that are the bridge between Asians and Polynesians. Its not Santana its Satana - Sa-Ta-Na. They derived from Philippine fraternities. College frats kinda turned into street gangs/mafias Im sure some of them may have rolled southside cuz of location and relationships... but Satana is not exclusively a southsider gang. They got dudes that were from that group in Northern California back in the 70s 80s and 90s too. Some of my uncles knew some of them.

@MAKBODIAN oh ok. I was never in gangs or been to jail. I was curious cause gun has said that crips and bloods sort of get along, don't quote me on that, but something like they don't always back each other up so I know that TRG and AB are or were huge enemies and I was just wondering if it was a situation like the crips and bloods have. But thankyou for clarifying it. I don't live in long beach no more but I think like in 2017 or maybe earlier either TRG or AB shot up a party killing a few people. I just wonder how it must be to get life in prison for that and than function with your sworn enemy. Not that I'm saying it's good or bad but I just wonder how that must be.

@@oneksalami7791 damn why you say that?
@oneksalami7791
15 күн бұрын
@@awhite804 Cause I knew someone that was hella dark and squinted his eyes a lot cause that’s the way he looks. And this was the time when the corner stores that made those sick SnapBack Sports hats with double and triple stitching, and when the T-shirts with super muscular pitbulls and Rottweilers was popular and Thrifty’s was the Walgreens back then, and there were little homies plastic toy figurines, So anyways, I just wanted to describe the timeline….because his eyes was always at that squinted position everyone always thought he was, “Mean Mugging,” all the time. Due to this, there would be people that would just walk up to him out of no where stepping up and asking why he mugging. And at this time, he is already cracking his knuckles while talking to these people. This would be surprising when you just hanging out and someone just comes up to you guys like that you know. And at the same time, His favorite word was, “Your Mom.” So this makes it worse. So this guy was about 5’8” or 5’9”. What was shocking and surprising everyone was, it did not matter who came up. Didn’t matter how tall or wide they was or how mean they look. Once Dude started cracking his knuckles, And did that over the head Hay Maker like described in this video. That person receiving that punch went down. The most surprising was the more bigger and more taller the people was, they went down like trees. At one time he was part of the football team, and the story was he knocked out some dude on the other team with his helmet on and broke his Jaw. I went to summer school and there happens to be a guy with his Jaw shut like bigger than normal braces and he always drank through a straw. When I heard him say something about football. I cracked up, I was like is that jaw broken from a punch? He tried to deny it cause he at the school where he got knocked out🤣. But he admitted it cause I told him that I know the guy that did that and I thought it was just a story. I was like damn it’s True.🤣😂. I asked him why that happened to him?🤣. I was like the guy that did that is in the class next door. And he turned into a noodle and wanted to leave class🤣. I told him I was just kidding. There are other pinoys out there from that time that handled bussiness like that, especially the Pinoys that’s half Mexican. but this one guy was just basically protecting himself just cause of the way he looked even though he wasn’t even looking at you. There is more to this story but I can’t tell stories like this video. This video just popped up on my screen and I was rolling the whole time. I usually stuck scrolling on my screen nowadays. But this video caught me off guard. Thanks again and I will be watching the other videos.
