THE SUPER PORRIDGE. The best food for the long journey.
In order for me to complete the winter trip/long trip without losing weight, a high calorie content applies. I have developed the super porridge over a ten-year period. The super porridge is packed with both calories and vitamins/minerals.
I dish everything freeze-dried such as Adventure Food, Blå Band, Friluftsmat, LYOfood, Outmeals, Real tourmat, Trek'n Eat.
Instead, I dry my own food at home in the oven or food dryer. I also make a super porridge where the main ingredient is baby porridge. It is extremely easy to make and is well suited for cold hard long winter rides as it is bursting with calories. I also add a lot of rapeseed oil to the food as it raises the calorie content considerably.
Four ingredients that increase the calories in the food, making it less likely to drag on.
1. Nido full-fat powdered milk 503kcal/100g
2. Coconut milk powder 715kcal/100g
3. Coconut flakes 675kcal/100grams
4. Rapeseed oil 900kcal/100g
And a porridge recipe for 32 servings of super porridge. Useful and packed with calories and vitamins. It can be prepared with cold water if desired. So it doesn't need to be cooked like oatmeal. I do it when I go on a long trip in winter. I eat it twice a day. A port almost 1000kcal. I just mix in cold or hot water and then mix in the powder. Then with copious amounts of rapeseed oil.
