I love love love Xevious. I still play the original video game. I have been playing it since it came out in the arcade. I played one at the local bowling alley over and over again. I made it past the first mothership and onto the next mothership....but it gets hard fast. I have the pattern memorized but still cannot get best 2nd mother ship. :(

They invented most of the synthesizers since the mid seventies. That would explain why.

@@julienbraudel7109 FM synth tech is invented by John Chowning from Stanford. Yamaha licensed, implemented and commercialised it. Etc. They barely "invented" anything but produced very good implementations of what was invented elsewhere.

@@noop9k Can't really blame them then for taking something and turning it into a working and superior product. Germany has the opposite issue. A lot of fundamental research(engineering, electronics, biotech, etc.) was/is done here, but our market failed for close to 60 years to really capitalize on all the gained knowledge.
