“There’s this term ‘Collaborative competition’...When you see others doing something that would be better for kids, [you say] ‘I want to do that too.’”
Superintendents Michael Loughead (Hampton Township School District, Pennsylvania) and Michelle Miller (South Fayette Township School District, Pennsylvania) discuss the importance of connecting with other education leaders who have similar needs, contributing toward and benefiting from a collaborative network, and forging meaningful connections around the country and in their own region.
Loughead and Miller are both members of the Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools, a national network of school districts that connects and supports the most forward-thinking leaders in education. Through their membership, Loughead and Miller have opportunities to tap into a “huge network is so personal, small, and meaningful,”
