Say what you will about the movie, that scene where the supercomputer turned her into a cyborg scared the ish out of me as a kid. It was right up there with the Howling, American Werewolf in London, and that scene from Zombies when that lady's eye got pulled in that shattered door splinter. Sure she looked like a cross between Dr Detroit and Dr Doom but the transformation process was well done. It stills holds up today as a pretty gnarly WTF-moment.

The Chris Reeve movies follow the silver age way of thinking when it comes to the character analysis of Superman. The real persona is Superman whereas Clark is the mild mannered disguise. Kinda like how he was described in Kill Bill. They didn't switch it around til the mid 80s comic reboot. It really is toe-may-toe/toe-mah-toe with who is the public persona as they're both good people inherently

Watched Superman 3 recently and was pretty entertained. The movie has action, comedy and camp that goes with the territory when dealing specifically with Superman. Moreover, film deals with the themes that are actually quite relatable in the present times: globalism and media manipulation via computers. Robert Vaughn is great as Ross Webster, a forerunner to modern day's Larry Fink. Yeah, Richard Pryor is a bit over the top at times, but I honestly didn't mind him. Chris Reeve, though, is fantastic throughout! The convincingness with which he portrays contrasting Supermen is out of this world. An awesome actor giving his all in an ungrateful role of an early cinematic superhero. Highly recommended!

I actually prefer this one over the second film. Definitely prefer it to the 4th. Over the years, the second film feels more and more like the mashup production it is. I don’t hate it at all, I love stuff in it- but it doesn’t have enough to bring me back again and again. (Outside of watching Zod clips) The 3rd is at least more concise with what it’s doing. It’s got an interesting concept with Superman being a jerk. Chris Reeve is obviously having a lot of fun. It’s actually my favorite performance of his in the series. He feels comfortable in the roles, he gets to play Superman and Clark in a variety of ways. I like his scenes with Annette O’Toole in Smallville. I like Richard Pryor, even when it’s not his A material. His inclusion is so cynical and insane, but it somehow works for me. Anything bad in the movie is at least weird and funny. I’m not saying it’s under-appreciated, exactly. But I do think it’s more interesting and entertaining than it’s given credit for. For better or for worse.

I kind of agree that his relationship with Lois had run its course but more broadly, his romantic relationship with “mortal” women had done so. That’s what happened in II. So, having him move from one mortal woman to another, makes no sense. It’s kind of like having Superman Returns pick up where Superman II left off. Sure, it makes fantastic thematic sense but II ended with Superman saying he’d never leave “us”, again. But in Returns he returned after being gone for about 5 years.

"Brainiac" would have been the ideal choice for "Superman 3". Unfortunately, all they gave us was Richard Pryer. To be fair, although not near as strong as the 1st two Superman films, "Superman 3" did have some strong moments. Notably, the fire at the plant and, of coarse, the battle between Superman and Clark. Naturally, the best thing of all was the screen being graced, once again, by the greatest live-action Superman of all-time, Christopher Reeve.

It was more sitcom-like than a real movie, it also was a bit more a kid-movie for much of it (save for the super-computer and cyborg). I actually think that the actors (particularly Christopher Reeve and Robert Vaughn) made the most of it, and Richard Pryor did a good job in keeping it comedic and campy, hence why I think it's more a 'sitcom/kid's movie' hybrid film than a true Superman film. The first and second ones were truly far less comedic and while suitable for kids, were not true kids movie in the sense.

I don't understand people's negative opinions about this film. Of all the Reeve superman films It is by far my favorite and the most rewatchable of all of them. I enjoyed Richard Pryor's character and thought that He was likable and entertaining. His character also has a solid arc. We get to enjoy the lovely Annette O'Toole as Lana Lang instead of Margo kiders mediocre Lois Lane. Superman's character also has an arc in which he is made vulnerable for the first time ever and is able to see what he is capable of in the wrong hands. The junkyard fight scene is iconic and still remains one of the best superhero fight scenes in cinema in my opinion. And it absolutely drives me crazy when people say that it's campy, as if the Donner Superman films weren't campy also. The Donner films have some of the most cringe-worthy Superman scenes in history. Margo kidders inner dialogue poem while they're flying around, Superman turning back time, Gene Hackman's eccentric over the top take on lex Luther, Superman pulling the S off of his chest and turning it into some form of net... The list goes on. For me, Superman 3 will always be the best Christopher Reeve Superman film.

I liked the movie..Evil superman well more like "Bizarro Superman" was awesome in the bar flicking penuts, and when he fought clark, I liked it was the inner struggle between good and bad.

I really like the character of Superman, but Christopher Reeves will always be my favorite Superman. The scene where the computer turns that chick into a cyborg is part of the reason I don't trust technology as much as I should. Richard Pryor was great in his role, but the role wasn't really good for the movie. I really want to enjoy this movie more, but other than Lana, the fight between Clark and Superman, and the cyborg scene this is one of the more forgettable Superman movies. Peace and love y'all 🤟

Superman 3 is super fun! Anyone who dislikes it takes their entertainment too seriously.
