Of course, there was a...morally convoluted AI in the original movie, so eh. Oh, but Baymax in Big Hero 6 is adorable, no evil AIs there. And in Walle--oh no wait, evil(ish) AI. Ummm....oh, Data in Star Trek Next Gen, is not inherently evil. Actually there's a mystery series I like which has an AI as the main character which is pretty good. But yeah, you're generally right. it does make it better because 1. if they where to cast lex luthor it would basically be an actor trying to fill some huge shoes ... lex luthor is a sadistic, evil, cunning and yet charming person he is basically the guy everyone loves but you know he has done some bad shit that Is very VERY hard to portray ...... 2. lex jr. isn't as well known so the fact his personality is far more different than his fathers isn't such a big deal and it gives him more subtle character development .... how so well If you where not such a simpleton you can clearly see that lex jr. has daddy issues he lives under the enormous shadow his father has cast down on him he has a shrine built to the man, and we don't even know if he is dead or not, he venerated him the whole movie and yet despised him, constantly talking about his father's triumphant rise to power from being dirt poor to being a billionaire, lex jr. will never be seen as a success because there isn't much he can do to top what his father did no matter what people will always say, "you are where you are because of your father" and that must kill him inside ..... he sees his father as a god. ... and the fact superman is physically closer to a god it reminds him of his father there for if he can't beat his father directly he will use the man of steel as a surrogate to take out his hatred and resentment on him. If you did some reading in general maybe just maybe you could have been able to see the bigger picture this was a really artistic film, 1. the relase date was during lent a holy occasion for the Catholic religion which marked Jesus' final days in earth 2. drawing a deep importance on family and showing the similarities between superman and Christ both having a earthly father and a father from another world, both being called false gods and both dying for humanity and resurecting on the 3rd day which in this case will be the 3rd film connected to this event (justice league) .... it's a very smart film just people lack the intelligence to see how well done it is
@Robintheboywonder4

I can see just fine that Lex Luthor Jr had daddy issues, thank you. That was also arguably the case for Wilson Fisk in Daredevil. The difference is I didn't want to slit Wilson's throat in every other scene. As for the rest of that. Scorpionspear77 And JLU as well. Jeffrey Combs did an excellent job as the Question, one of the best performances in the DCAU in my opinion. Actually, can we just appreciate just how consistently good the voice acting was in the DCAU? It had some of the best voice acting in the history of cartoons. Tim Daly as Superman, Kevin Conroy as Batman, Mark Hamill as the Joker, Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor and Brainiac, Michael Ironside as Darkseid, Malcolm McDowell as Metallo, Michael Ansara as Mr Freeze, Arleen Sorkin as Harley Quinn, Ron Perlman as Clayface, Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman, Michael Rosenbaum as the Flash. The list goes on and on and whilst I can't quite name them all I can honestly say that I don't think they ever selected a voice actor who didn't fit the role. Whoever was doing the casting was killing it, especially considering tye DCAU spanned five separate shows (B:TAS, S:TAS, JL, JLU and Batman Beyond), each of which had at least two seasons.

My version of the Superman/Luthor window scene: Luthor makes his monologue about efficiency. He invites Superman inside and then angrily exclaims, "Say Something!" [and now the changes] Superman silently points to his eyes, then points to Luthor. Superman promptly flies away, creating a wake that topples the robot model (which was not thrown by Luthor) The model brakes into many pieces. Luthor picks up the pieces of the model and is about to throw them out the window... Just then, his computer beeps and a familiar icon appears on the screen - end scene

I think you're forgetting the most important thing! This series was introduced as a prime time event by the WB's own Nick Freno(?): Licensed Teacher 😆 Also, I never noticed how much Lex looks (and sounds) like pre-Two Face Harvey Dent. Was the latter done by Clancy Brown too? ALSO, also, by far the BEST DEPICTION OF LEX. Apologies to Mr. Hackman, but THIS Lex uses PR, money & power in Gotham to keep Superman at bay with the goal of MORE money and power. No crazy land schemes that would ABSOLUTELY not work. Makes him a great foil for the Man of Steel.

Lenard Williams Batman isn't even in this episode. I'm judging based on this arc alone. As an introduction. And it was a good introduction. No Batman. Lois isn't "in love" with Supes yet. Just has a crush and still has plenty of time to get to know him AND Clark. I'll admit, later in the DCAU, Superman sorta become my least favorite but I really liked this intro arc. Man of Steel kinda... didn't do it well. Plus, the sequel to Man of Steel is an even bigger insult to Superman than anything the DCAU ever did. In his first crossover with Batman, he not only loses the fight, but he spent the entire movie moping.
@MrLatrunks14

Edward Gil 1) I've seen and own the entire series of Superman TAS. Bruce Timm watered down Superman, made him Batman's bitch, and Made Lois more Superficial than ever before. 2) As a Superman fan, I loved both Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Superman can't be happy when the only people that don't consider him the enemy are Lois Lane and Martha Kent. He's getting the Spider-man treatment. He's in a world which is like ours: Racist against Ailens. If they ain't from here, go away. 3) Superman didn't want to fight. He wanted Bruce's help to rescue his mother. Batman wasn't in the mood to talk. He wanted to kill Superman.
@ObaREX
8 жыл бұрын
Lenard Williams 1) I said I agree Supes was not treated well through out all of Bruce Timm's run on him. I am simply basing my opinion on THIS arc. I also have binge watched all of Bruce Timm's DCAU. Batman, Superman, Batman Beyond, Static Shock, Zeta, Justice League, all of it. And as much as I love it, I'll admit there are somethings I did not agree with. 2) In Batman v Superman, it's not like everyone hated him. There were people, the people he actually saved, that were very grateful to him. He had a statue for Pete's sake. Yes, there was a HUGE amount that hated him, and I understood that because it made it more real. But at some points, their hatred got a bit ridiculous. Like when they blamed him for the courthouse explosion. But Superman is supposed to be above that. He's supposed ton be BETTER than Spider-man. He doesn't quit. And even if he did, would it kill the movie to give him some personality. I wanted my inspiring, boy scout hero. I didn't want an angsty, nigh speechless Superman. 3) I know Supes didn't wanna fight, but come on, that fight was SHORT. And if he wanted to, he could've restrained ol' Bats. Plus, in the comics, every victory Batman has had over Superman was because he KNEW Superman wouldn't fight with his all. Still kinda far fetched at times. I love Batman but... come on. If I'm completely honest, Superman wasn't the worst thing about BvS but he certainly didn't help it in the slightest. He was a supporting character in his own movie. Bruce and Lex got more lines and screen time than he did. And Lois wasn't even Lois at all. She was a shell.
